    He will be an upgrade there. I thought Berkman might have been a better choice than Cruz, but who knows. I always respected Rice baseball but they have really tanked the last few years. They were one of the few sports there that was consistently good. I think he will help them and hope he learned something from his time at Texas. Good luck to Rice baseball.

    As a long time Cowboys fan I hope they do something good to get a backup and potential starter, but I would hate to see them draft Quinn and then ruin him. Quinn has a chance of being a pro quarterback, perhaps long term, but may need to be in the right place. If he gets to be a backup for a couple of years and has a good qb coach, those chance go up.

    Agreed. We had that issue in the past with Duplantier. He appears to have worked on some things and hopefully improved on that. Riojas in particular does seem to have that 30-40 pitch/2 inning bug, at least in his last couple of outings when he went that far. Hopefully Wiener can do his thing with the middle relief guys. It would be nice to have reliable 2-5 inning relief guys when you need them.

    Saw your analysis of the team on Coffee and Football. They are still not running on all cylinders and different guys seem to have stretches of inconsistency, including returning stalwarts. Schloss will keep tweaking until he finds the right mix and hopefully more consistency among those expected to be the starters. That being said, there is a lot of talent and when some are in slumps others have picked them up. Overall, pitching has been better than expected, but is still a work in progress. Let's hope some greater consistency occurs now that the tough SEC schedule has started. I am more hopeful than before that the team will be in the playoffs and at least make it into super regionals. I would like to make another trip to Omaha, even though the hotels engage in price gouging during that time. Hook'em.

    Report back on the town and the stadium. Overall I have heard good things about both, but some have said they didn't like Starkville. I have heard bad things about the cowbells- very annoying. You may want to take ear plugs or noise cancelling headphones/earbuds. Have fun and bring back a sweep for us.🤘

    I have never been much of a Dak fan. He can put up numbers, but when the team needs him he can't put them on his shoulders. I hated the contract they gave him. I also did not like that big contract for Ezekiel when he was already on the decline. I like Quinn a lot and hope he can stay healthy and prosper in the NFL.

    I am a Cowboys fan and worry that they will get rid of Dak (with my blessing) and boost the backup. If it happens soon I am not sure I would want Quinn to be thrust into that without a couple of years under his belt as a backup first.

    Volantis has looked good. Bing has his moments, but has been a bit wild with the occasional meatball. I wonder when Grubbs will get more time. His few innings have looked pretty good. I never thought he would be a Friday night starter (until last year's problems), and perhaps not Saturday or Sunday, but he was very solid last year and seems to be getting back in the groove from whatever his injury problem was. We are going to need good middle relief and occasional spot starters.

    Baseball now only allows parking in the East Garage if you are a season ticket holder and paid at least $200 dollars to the Longhorn Foundation; or if you are handicapped. Of course, even as a season ticket holder or having a handicapped plate or placard you still pay to park.

    That run to the elite 8 was probably not really his own making. He inherited that. Maybe being fresh helped the team rally a bit, but he has had time since then to show something, whether or not he got as much as other coaches around the country. I think UT wanted him to prove something he had not done before as a head coach (his prior records as a head coach are provided above) and he has not done that. We will see how UT thinks about him when the season ends.

" This article as well as another I saw somewhere said that 1/3 of major league pitchers have had this surgery. Seems like a lot but I have seen it twice. Might be fake news.
