  1. I hope QE does well but I think he will be a back up at best, possibly getting starts off and on. Colt got in 14 years. Being a backup QB is one of the best jobs in the NFL, actually one of the best jobs anywhere, because the longer you can stay the better the money is and you have far fewer injuries than being a starter.
  2. She's a very good ball player, so it must be tough on her to have to redshirt.
  3. Derrick Foster to the Cowboys as RB coach.
  4. Dallas just hired Derrick Foster as their RB coach.
  5. I'll tell your wife. Just let me know if I need a hard hat or a kevlar vest. 😁
  6. I was generally impressed with the pitching and was surprised to see all of the new arms that could throw consistently in the mid-90s and Moffett in the high 90s. Howard pitched pretty well for awhile too. The pitchers overall looked pretty good and did a good job against the alumni. As mentioned above, several of the pitchers were fairly impressive. It looks like Stewart either lost weight or has been working out and redistributed it. He is a big guy but he did not seem as chunky yesterday compared to what he looked like in fall ball. He had a really nice double to left center. Several of the young position players stood out. Chamberlain looked really good, Rodriquez looked really good, Farmer is waiting in the wings and will probably play a lot. I did not get much of a feel for Winfield or Mendoza, although Mendoza did boot one. Galvan may have gotten an ear full after the game for a bad throw to first and for missing a foul ball way up the line that was not really his anyway. Oliver Service did not look particularly good catching and made some bad throws. Gasparino made a really good running catch to deep center with the sun in his eyes and later missed a leaping catch at the wall which from our seats was hard to tell if he should have caught it or not. Overall, they looked pretty good. Hitting should be good and there are more good arms this year. Hopefully control won't be an issue again.
  7. As a Cowboy's fan, I think Choice would help, but there would be too many hindrances from Jones to make it a good experience for him or to make a huge impact+. I think he is doing a great job at Texas and would hate to see him leave, but know that it is probably inevitable at some point unless he is promoted. Since he is supposed to be such a good recruiter he might be better off making his next move to being a promotion in the college ranks to OC or something like that.
  8. I read several reviews online by various sports groups where they rated or discussed their top player's performances at the Senior Bowl practices and Sorrell was not mentioned one time. I thought it was strange since the OL there picked him as the number one DL.
  9. I must have posted the same time you did, but I used the Princeton version. I was at a conference years ago and a friend of mine, a Princeton grad, told that joke as an introduction to his presentation.
  10. A Texan started college at Princeton and was wandering the campus looking for the library. He bumped into what appeared to be an upper classman and asked “do you know where the library’s at?” The upper classman said “at Princeton we do not end our sentences with prepositions”. The Texan responded “okay, do you know where the library is at “a..shole”. 😀
  11. The amount of money these schools spend on tutors is astronomical. If he needs it and they can't help him then it could be a tough semester. Hopefully they enroll him with a minimum load and ease him in- even if he is a good student. I was on the faculty at Tulane Medical School years ago and attended some of the university wide faculty senate meetings and got to see some of the inner workings of the athletics department budget, as well as the ongoing monitoring of the GPAs of each sport. I was surprised at the tutoring budget, but not surprised at the grades of some of the the various athletic teams. When I was a senior in college I was the teaching assistant for an anatomy and physiology class for P.E. majors (a lot of athletes), pre-nursing, etc. I ran the lab portion and administered and graded the tests. I had a number of football players in that lab, including the quarterback, and he was the only one of them that passed the lab. His final lab grade was just a little over 70. I guess that is why he was the quarterback.🤣 He did go on to play in the NFL for a few years and hung around because he was a pretty good overall athlete.
  12. He is relentless. I lived in Pennsylvania for a few years and Penn State rules there. Most people bleed blue and white. Their PA competition is Pitt, Penn, Temple, etc. Eastern PA is primarily Penn State country for fans and Coatesville is a suburb of Philly.
  13. I was close. We are just about up to date with this season. It is a really good show. We have also been watching Person of Interested. We missed most of it when it was on originally. We enjoy that too and it was from network tv, meaning there are more than 10 episodes per season.
  14. Thanks. Yeah I knew that happened to guys that get cut at the end of the semester and it is still tough, particularly since semester start and stop dates aren't the same at all schools and making arrangements are hard. Getting cut in the Spring was not something I knew or had paid attention to. I would think that just about rules out any transfer to the season, whether a JUCO or otherwise.
  15. That was a good one. Several really funny parts. They saved Texas for last and it was all good until the scene with the counselor.
  16. Good speed and he seems to like to block.
  17. The Drip line didn't seem to be giving him a lot of help on many of those plays.
  18. Needs to eat more Jalapenos!
  19. Man, that will be tough getting cut after the spring semester starts. They did pare down at the end of the fall semester, but it makes it hard on those guys being cut when the next semester starts soon. Even worse is getting cut after the spring semester starts. Doesn't leave time to enroll anywhere else.
  20. What is the roster limit? They are over 40 and I seem to recall that this year the limit is 40.
  21. Some say Borba. But the Spring will tell.
  22. Thoracic outlet syndrome. It is a narrowed passage for a group of blood vessels and nerves that can be serious. It was most of the cause of J. R. Richard's, the former Astros pitcher, demise.
  23. That is a plump cow in his x posting.
