  1. I saw what Pavia did last hear against Auburn for NMXSt - which was unbelievable, really. Gerry has been blowing his horn all season and rightly so. Remember Diego was a champion wrestler and he is a leader and a really tough guy. We will have to take Vandy seriously for this season in Nashville.
  2. Not Herman's Beck, Dude2
  3. Jeanty and Pavia - good viewing. Glad we only have to play against Diego in the regular season.
  4. Having no excuse to watch Texas I will be doing something excellent - frisbee in the park with my twin teenaged granddaughters.
  5. What? I thought Texas has had some explosive games. Is he looking for 70 pts?
  6. Good to know, this was my first watch this season.
  7. Makes one realize what a great blocker ONeal was.
  8. Trey will be the #2 next season. When QE is out he is the #2 NOW. So my bet is that if QE comes back for OU and for the remainder of the season we will only see Trey twice more. But if QE misses more than two more games the RS will probably be lost. I am still looking for Cole Lourd to throw a TD to Thatcher Milton, of course.
  9. I really favor this take. Like early VY, Arch's personal inclination for a second read seems to be to run, and I suspect that was verboten for him against ULM and will be against Miss St. He can read progressions it seems to me, so I hope Sark hammers on how good the receivers are after the catch and has him looking short first. When he can content himself to take the easy pickings he will have matured to a new level. The bomb can be held in reserve and can still be useful if used sparingly. Throwing one now and then [but NOT into double coverage] loosens up the defense and makes Helm or a RB underneath a YAC menace. Manning is enough of a student of the game that he may be able to quickly correct the "greedy" tendency to look long, first. That would be my hope. As for his passing, not his decision making, his timing with Blue needs a lot of work that I think may never appear Quinn-like this season. Quinn definitely has more arrows in his quiver because he is comfortable throwing to his RBs and TEs. End result? Let Quinn have two more weeks before OU, and look for Arch to take advantage of short throws to WRs, allowing them to move after the catch, against MSU. If he does more - finds his RBs and TEs - that'll be pure gravy.
  10. For the first time I notice a specific drop off - when both Gbenda and Hill are out. They are better at run containment than their subs, although Lefau and Mo are pretty good. Or so I think.
  11. While I agree in general - we have had some good member coverage of VB and hoops, and some Gerry coverage of hoops. Those are the two female sports that most engage me. In fact, televised VB is to me third only to men's hoops and FB, as I would choose to watch it over every other sport - and I played and love baseball. I concede that baseball and softball are both ill served by television compared with goal-to-goal sports. VB is absolutely a stunning TV sport and more easily completely followed than even goal-to-goal sports. The TV advantage of VB coupled with the incredible play of Texas [and other top teams] has me watching replays on YouTube because I miss the scheduling since the demise of LHN. I would appreciate OTF publishing TV scheduling of VB and women's hoops in a continuing sidebar, perhaps in a collation of all televised UT sports. I know, I can find this for myself at https://texaslonghorns.com. But we are discussing OTF here, and looking for ways to encourage OTF to broaden its coverage of women's sports. The best OTF could do would be to have a stringer or employee[s] write daily briefings. The subscription base may or may not justify that yet, but it is worth asking.
  12. The greatest exception is for performance based admission. Think fine and performing arts. They require portfolios and/or auditions. And... think athletics.
  13. Venables remains a fine DC as a HC so I would not assume as Bobby did this morning that Tennessee will beat them by 40 points. But 28 seems realistic from what I have seen.
  14. Sorta...further north on Guadalupe there is
  15. Now 21-7! Bobcats made this one look easy. So are they going to be the G5 team in the playoff?
  16. FWIW, San Marcos Normal just went up 14-7 on Arizona State. They looked good doing it, with quick passes to the outside and quick runs up the gut.
  17. JQJ gives Arky a power running threat. He is the real deal. Oklahoma must try something else at QB. Is there a dual threat who can escape the rush on their roster? Hawkins? Or dare I mention, Casey? OU has a lot of talent on the roster. But the O-Line plus Arnold is a fatal combo, now. Until the O-Line is healthy or improved the QB must be an escape artist who can scamper when flushed. Solve this before the Shootout and that game will be tougher than mere rivalry can make it.
  18. He played very well, I thought. Gerry mentioned in one of the videos today that he bracketed their TE in coverage and that led to Mukuba's pass breakup on their TE when Moore forced the TE to reroute.
  19. His last catch was perhaps the best display of glue hands yet
  20. Explain the reestablish rule for me as if I were ignorant. [I am ignorant].
  21. The run defense has been most solid when 15 and VB have been in together. Or so I think.
