  1. Landry is probably a “both” rather than “defense”. While he played defense and was the DC for the Giants, he called plays for Dallas, reinvented the Shotgun and pioneered motion.
  2. The “lack of commitment” report may or may not be true. However, the same thing was said about Ewers in the Spring of 2022 and it was apparently correct. Ewers was initially not doing what he needed to do to master his position. He realized that and put in the work in the Spring of 2023 to become a team leader. The point is, things can change. There is no doubt though that Owens already has a battle on his hands with Lacey.
  3. Maybe Orphey can help
  4. I’d be happy with Crowell and KJ Edwards
  5. Until Cojoe shows something on the field, I have to view him a Tope Imadi level player, great physical attribute but hasn’t put it together.
  6. when RT is fired? Does the new coach keep Ogden around or bring in his own guy? The GM is essential to building a college basketball team, especially with the Portal opening in a few days. The 2025-26 Texas team will be a complete rebuild, we lose every one of consequence.
  7. 1. I don’t think that the Committee rewards a team with a 12 loss conference record. 2. If we can get in the 64 team field, I’m all for it. I don’t want a welfare-like play-in game; it’s the committee saying, “You didn’t earn a spot with the real teams, but we will give you a participation trophy.”
  8. Sharma looks to have slimmed down from the 345 lbs reported not long ago
  9. Makes sense for Dallas to take QE on day 2. Give him a year to watch and Dalla can start the rebuild by dumping “Albatross” Prescott.
  10. Willams 3rd or later — he lacks athleticism and his film is bad Helm 5th or later — mediocre blocker and lacks athleticism
  11. In evaluating the coaching changes, I see Orphey as a young Terry Joseph and Akina as similar to Scottie Hazelton. The mystery is Keynodo Hudson. How does he compare to Coach Gideon? Have we taken a small step back from the 2024 staff or is it a wash?
  12. In 2024, he was the “Assistant Wide Receivers Coach” at Boise State
  13. If I recall correctly, Jonah’s brother was picked at the end of the first round of the MLB draft and hasn’t made the Majors. Maybe Jonah thinks that he has a better shot at the NFL than the Major Leagues.
  14. Hell yeah!!!
  15. Chad Scott better get to work
  16. True. We need a Notre Dame/Nebraska/Penn State type TE in the Spring Portal
  17. Sark is still going through candidates but the Nebraska RB coach is a name to watch (which in my opinion would be a disappointment if true)
  18. In the Roundup podcast, Bobby and Gerry just said that Hall and Samples are not currently being considered.
  19. I’ve seen the name — he is described as a Tashard Choice starter kit without any skins on wall. 3 years ago, he would have worked for us but we need a more established, well known coach to close a 2026 class that has two super bluechip backs there for the taking.
  20. Agreed. I didn’t even consider him for that reason until a connected poster with a track record on OB mentioned that Gillespie was a name he had heard mentioned.
  21. Carlos Locklyn (OSU), Robert Gillespie (Alabama), Tony Alford (Michigan), Jabbar Juluke (Florida), Kevin Smith (Ole Miss), Chris Gilbert (Texas), Samples (Oregon) This only includes names that I’ve heard as possibilities. Frank Wilson (LSU) and Deland McCullough (ND) would go to the top of the list.
  22. For me, Samples is on the list but not at the top, which is significantly higher than a RB coach from Nebraska
  23. No. Not on the list. 😁
  24. NIL and Chris Gilbert got Justus Terry. He also lost two DL we already had committed and had to flip Sharma and Charles. It looked bleak in June. That’s what happens when you start a lap down in recruiting.
  25. They need a coach that can land Osborne and an SEC power back. They are on a silver platter for the 2026 class. A non-recruiting NFL RB coach is not going to get that done.
