  1. back in the late 90s you had to pay $5-$10 to the school to get them to mail the transcripts to other schools.....TJs NIL money is gonna go just to get get schools to send transcripts, haha.
  2. I understand you point and there is some validity to it but cfb and nfl have many big differences which does not allow you to treat it the same way. 1. if you have a rash if injuries you have a practice squad and you can pick up guys off the street and trade for them mid season. In college you are stuck. 2. in college fr typically(95%+) of the time are not ready to play snaps , especially on the lines. In NFL, day 1 and 2 draft pics better be in 2 deep, possibly start. Being 22 and being 18 is a big difference. 3. you have guys under contract for multiple years so you can project someone next year. Nothing like that anymore from this year in college. Even adding 1 guy(whoever that is, Seaton for example) is not enough. If we just add seaton, we are good with OT depth but not OC and OG. We must add 2 more if not 3 on OL alone. FCs/G5/D2 but bodies must be added, talent would be great. edit: we do not have 8 playable bodies currently, yes 5-7 more days left to change that
  3. 2-3 OL i hope, not all starters but 2 should be
  4. Cojo and Brooks as backups but given a chance to start at OG/RT. need 3 more bodies and 1 that can play OC, includes 2 starters
  5. i see your point but imo Terry isnt yet there as a full time RB for me
  6. Need an ILB bc players get nicked up
  7. agree, need OL and ILB and OLB. Lance Jackson is not a 3-4 OLB(overhang), he is better for 4 man fronts, 5 and 3 tech in nascar. I think Zina can but not too sure. maybe in year 1, Wesley could but not sure on that also. Spence can do both but i think we need another body. Oragbo , if healthy and 8 months to get ready can hopefully get a few snaps.
  8. hope that changes, need another RB for depth, injuries happen. someone 215+lbs, D2/FCs guys is fine. need a 6th guy
  9. Remaining big needs in the portal: Offense: 8 players 1 RB-1a or 1b, however you want to look at it but a starter. 1 WR-starter, ball winner. if not, we might need 2 level 2 guys. 1 WR- maybe as depth 3-4 OL- however you want to split the OT, OG, OC part, we need 3 for sure. I would be ok with 1-2 FCS/D2 guys if 1-2 others are D1 guys. Needs 2 more starters for sure. 3 if Roberson does not come back. i think we need 4 more bodies. 1 QB- veteran, wanna be coach that can pick up the system quickly and in an emergency wont lose the game, ideally Caldwell type but thats a tough ask. He was more than serviceable, won us a game. Defense: 4 players I ILB- starter level, bigger guy, thumper, run stuffer, >235lbs. 1 ILB- depth, thumper, bigger guy, >235lbs, i think can come from D1/FCS 1 OLB- in a 3-4 can play the OLB position, rush the passer, set the edge, give Colin a break. 1 OLB- bc of a long season, i do think we need some more depth at OLB, or ILB. can play ST also. If we bring everyone else back, we dont need anyone else but could definitely get some depth and ST work.
  10. the #3 jersey is gonna be in demand.
  11. he is not even 200 yet, so getting to 220+ might not be in the cards for him. maybe big nickel vs not so fast WRs? maybe situationally as a come down safety? cover TEs? ST!
  12. He is versatile, he can be a Mike in situations but he can play all 3 and blitz and drop back. I could see a 3-4 with Biles as a LB and Spence as a overhang(Gerry's position but its a OLB ). Spence drops and Biles blitzes bc he is good at that.
  13. Kade Phillips would definitely like a word with you
  14. Biles is a different type of LB than the other 2. I think he is a better blitzed than both but not a great btw the tackles. I think he and Smith have some similarities in dropping back, great in passing lanes. I think Biles is very good , and can be better in 3-4 if kept clean by the big NT, btw the A and B gaps. I do think in a 15-16 game season we need someone like Cryer inside in run situations. Both Cal and Wisc LBs are more thumpers, more similar to each other. All 3 have their benefits. I hope we get the Cal guy, very very good and different from Biles. I do hope we take a 240+ lb guy from D2/Fcs ILB just for specific situations, depth. defense will likely play/hopefully play > 1100 snaps in 2026-2027(you know what I mean!) 🤘🏽
  15. Really like that Kobe Black is back, I think it’s great depth in the secondary. Compete for starting CB but hope he is open to playing some safety if/when needed. I think he can be very valuable and a versatile piece, especially if a freshman CB steps up late in the year like Phillips did this year.
  16. agree completely but also they are different type of LBs. Barnes does not have the range that Biles has, nor the instinct on the blitz. We do need another thumper bc they only have Cryer for short yardage/goalline situation with 2 ILBs that can attack the A/B gaps at the same time. 2/3 ILBs in the bag, 1/3 to go and someone that can thump a little. We know who we want but lets get at least 1 more ILB and i hope we can get a D2/FCS guy in the portal late as depth.
  17. Gotta track you calories burned, pulse and energy level and tears shed haha
  18. Also Oragbo think of the Steelers or Ravens 3-4 teams , 3 big DLs (huge NT like Hampton) taking up space and 2 pass rushers that set the edge on either side. TJ Watt essentially but that’s a HOF overhang
  19. i think we definitely need to go after FCS and D2 players as depth and let them compete, there is some talent there and experience. Thye make it in the NFL too.
  20. yes but so did someone else (forgot who) and is trying to back out....legal actions underway. its too crazy. NCAA needs to officially end. start over with new rules and if you break them you get the death penalty otherwise we all the the schools will continue to cheat the system. since NIL, only Miami from the south has made the title game. We know what Bama, Lsu, Auburn, UGA have been doing for decades.
  21. similar, Brown is faster but both make you miss. seriously, both will make LBs look foolish. Slashers than than run. neither are true "POWER" backs but both run with some power. Brown listed at 5-9 195, Smoothers listed at 5-11 195.
  22. its all over the web and i wish it was not but Hollywood is coming for a visit. love his tape and he would start day 1 here.
  23. so some of us should not scoff at the Yale OL or other potential small school players we target......we should target more smaller school talented guys in the portal
  24. agree..... i think there are players and smaller schools that can play well at Texas. It has been proved in the past. Hopefully we look at some options. i do love the Cal and Pitt LBs.
