    That was the one thing I thought was off Saturday. He lost that ball for MM’s second int right before the half. Never went downfield again. Can’t help but think he lost confidence in it or just couldn’t fling it like he normally likes.

    Makes no sense, they just got the contract 4 months ago. Even Phil Knight wouldn’t have that quick a trigger finger.

I don’t think Mack had much longer on his leash had he kept losing to OU and keeping us out of CCGs and BCS games. We were done with Akers after 10 years, and too many missed chances.

    It’s not NC or bust. Penn St is a blue blood, and they’re the only team of relevance in a populous, football crazy state (much like Oh St). Yet they’ve been a perpetual third fiddle to Mich and Oh St. He finally got them in last year as a beneficiary of the 12 team format. This year was supposed to be it, and it was an absolute disaster. This program wasn’t going to improve. If this happens in Sark’s 12 year he’ll be gone too. Now he’s got 50 million reasons to take a break and reassess.

    It’s probably a zero sum game. Anything he makes coaching will likely offset his severance.

    This was supposed to be their year. Like Oh St last year and Mich the year before, they had all these fourth and fifth year guys coming back to make a run. Instead a disaster ensued.

    I’m not ready to call him overrated. Sat for last two games, limited practice this week. And our defense is awesome!
