Think Mateer ended up at OU by coincidence when his OC moved? This stuff happens all the time and everywhere. I’ll bet even Sark, Banks, etc, made a few whispers to players wondering about their future at Bama.

    If you’re LSU and you’re dropping $14/year on a coach, don’t you want to announce it before signing day? It certainly appears their class is holding together now.

    He also is accusing Sark of drinking again and that the whole program hates Sark’s wife. As if he’d know. One can be critical without resorting to that kind of lowlife behavior. He needs to go back to Orangebloods.

    I think that’s CFB’s biggest challenge. Most schools are under a traditional semester system, while they’re trying to schedule a broader playoff while trying to keep a Christmas break and avoiding stepping on the NFL’s toes. Not to mention the Rose Bowl demanding to have a sunset for the end of the third quarter camera shot.

    There’s no place to hide there. Can’t complain about resources, commitment, etc. DoBoer did a great job inheriting a talented veteran team, taking a flyer on a very talented but oft injured Penix, then keeping them around for another season. At Alabama, it’s all on him. It wouldn’t shock me if he parlayed these two years into a more lucrative and less demanding position.
