  1. It took about 5 years and three stops for Darnold to develop. He was a bad fit several places.
  2. A lot of Quinn’s “regression” had to do with the deteriorating RB room.
  3. “The light came on” for everyone in the offseason. Just like every offseason.
  4. I think social media warriors are a result of getting laid less.
  5. Social media passed alcohol about 10 years ago as number one in fueling faux bravery and bravado.
  6. I bet the LSU boards are singing Kiffen’s praises this morning. 🤔
  7. For now, yes. People get far too emotional after big wins and losses. I’ll leave it to CDC to figure out.
  8. Not throw his arms into the passer’s head and neck area, for starters.
  9. Yes, that has generally worked so well for Texas - coaching changes.
  10. My issue with Arch is he doesn’t have a consistent rhythm. He’s a different player when he thinks he’s comfortably ahead (overly cautious), then steps on the gas with varying results when tied late or behind.
  11. Social media is a cesspool. Whether it’s Twitter or message boards, people posting anonymously get far more courage than they do in person, either with each other or coaches and players. Take a look at some of the posts on this and other Texas boards over the last 15 hours. Folks get way too high when they win and very reactive when their team loses. The problem aggie has is the board, Tex Ags, which is practically embedded into their program. Their own moderator brags about his access and friendships with folks in the building (and even helping JFF wake up for draft workouts). When you become the de facto insider you’re going to get way more scrutiny. That said, Elko needs to stop whining about social media. It’s a sad fact of life in 2026. Turn it off, coach the team and move on.
  12. Free transfers, too. Saban was great at warehousing 5 stars for two or three years.
  13. I think NIL and free transfers leveled the playing field with Saban, and at 72 he didn’t feel he could keep his advantage.
  14. I tend to be skeptical of documentaries where the subject has final editing rights, but the first episode was good.
  15. He keeps getting better every year. In a strange way he’s better off at a team in total rebuild. He can get loads of playing time which will help with that second contract.
  16. So many great memories (and several bad ones, sadly) to choose from, but that Pittman TD still resonates with me. That time of the game was usually a time when we would take the foot off the gas and slide into halftime with a decent lead. That play spoke for what we became in 2005, when we would choke out anyone in our path. That attitude got us a natty.
  17. Maybe work on banning the NY board of trade next lifetime.
  18. What do you think drives the commodities and futures markets? Politics and world affairs.
  19. Yes, I’m the one crying in my beer over a gambling site. Thoughts & prayers, superstar.
  20. I’m waiting for Captain Crunch to be vilified…
  21. That was often the only way for folks to bet, outside of some mob backed bookie or traveling to Vegas or London, until legal exchanges came to pass.
