  1. There's only one answer, Quinn, without him we're looking back instead of what's to come.
  2. Couldn't agree more, I have an idea on what I would like to see and would do, but I'm just a fan. Nothing I say is bound to happen, I would like for Texas to pull it out. And if you're right about anything 🤣 if Texas does win, it's because they listened to me and I'm applying for the first coaching job available at Texas.
  3. I know most of Arch's time came against lesser competition, but I would watch the games against UTSA, ULM, and State. That would give a better assessment of what to expect from an Arch/Sark offense instead of Quinn/Sark. There's a noticeable difference between the two.
  4. Not saying Ohio State will be surprised in a sense they can't stop Texas, but more of this isn't what we expected. Last year we couldn't hit on deep shots, so the offense was designed to get the ball to athletes and space. Unfortunately, that meant a lot of screens and passes behind the line of screen and yeilded a lot of tackles for loss. This year the offense will be more vertical. Just like Texas, Ohio State will have to stop the run with a light box.
  5. They're going to be in for a surprise. I understand they don't really follow Texas, but they go all the way back to Sark's second year up to Michigan last year, one thing Sark did to open the game was to let it rip. So that secondary will get tested and this is the first year of the new body type recievers. Gone are the Worthys and Bonds and in are the 6'2" and 6'4" guys who are physical and and can endure physical play.
  6. After Michigan last year, what do you guys think about your place kicker? We dealt with Auburn and his right hash issues, and decided he had to go.
  7. 🤣 I'll pass. Klatt is still concused and Urban Myer is still sniffing his finger.
  8. Why are they talking about Arch as if he's Josh Allen? Sark isn't going to run zone read and designed run plays when he doesn't know who the backup qb is. Sure Arch may scramble here and there, but the Arch that got knocked out the game isn't the Arch Ohio State is going to see. That was just a package to get Arch in the game last year.
  9. Serious question, banter aside, who in the Buckeye space can I go and listen to that isn't going to just say JJ Smith and Downs for thirty minutes? I enjoy honest assessments of our weekly matchup and so far no one I've listened to have provided anything they may have worries about, it's all sunshine and rainbows.
  10. I'd be lying if I said I'm not worried about the offensive line. I have some pause there, but nothing outrageous. If there's one thing I'm confident this line will be able to do is get a push. This offensive line was already known to be better run blockers than pass protectors. With the was Sark operates his offense, he has something he hasn't had in a back since Roschon. That's someone who can run inside, now he has that in Baxter, Gibson, and Clark. This difference this year is he has the arm to make you pay when the safety gets caught looking in the backfield.
  11. We Texas fans are worried about this game. We are confident because this game is played 8/30 and not in October. We know as the season goes and Sayin gets valuable reps he's going to get better as the season goes. Same can be said about Arch. But speaking solely of this game it's cause for caution.
  12. You keep forgetting you had an experienced 5th year qb vs a first time starter. One thing about first year starters is they tend to lock onto recievers. It's different this year.
  13. What was Smith's production like against clearly the best two defenses he faced in Michigan and Texas combined? Keep in mind Will Johnson didn't play and they had a parch work secondary.
  14. Our Buckeye friends here might not want to hear this, but their team this year remind me of the team that went to Alabama and won. We didn't have a JJ Smith, but we did have the best left tackle, Worthy, Sanders, Mitchell, Brooks( up to TCU), a nasty run defense, but no real pass rush that year, and a quarterback that held the team back. That doesn't mean we go to Columbus and win, but it does mean the quarterback is going to make or break your season. Sayin is very similar to Quinn in size, release both arm slot and quickness, but little better athlete. We could not maximize the offense, while Worthy ended up having a good year, with better QB play he's in the conversation for the best wideout in the nation. As good as Smith and the rest of that corp is, they are only as good as the person delivering the ball.
  15. Sayin is 6ft with two pair of socks on at best weighing about 190. Stroud is 6'3" 218 with a cannon, what about Sayin says he's similar to Stroud.
  16. You're looking at it the wrong way. If Sayin is seeing ghosts then is it going to matter if everyone is running wide open downfeild, there will be more focus on hitting and confusing Sayin first. He's not going to have 5 seconds to decide where to go with the ball.
  17. This is just me watching Sayin. I have to ask with his size, his arm slot, and the fact that you're going to want to get the ball out quickly, are you worried about about tipped passes? That would be a real concern if I were a Buckeye fan.
  18. But that's just it I'm not talking about Smith. Smith is just 1/11 if the person throwing the ball is confused or the guys up front can't get em blocked up. Its takes a lot to get the ball to a receiver, and when you have recievers like OSU you attack the person throwing the ball.
  19. That's cool I'm not talking about Day tho. Go watch the body language of Texas wideouts after Arch showed he could accurately throw the deep ball. You'll see Golden and Bond stop running because they didnt believe it would get to them in multiple games.
  20. That's not what I said. I didn't say anything about holding anyone to anything. What I did was named the coverages you're going to see and asked if a first time starter will be about to decipher what he's seeing and what the front is doing. I didn't mention one reciever.
  21. I can tell you what coverages you're going to see. Match 3, Match Quarters, Split Zones, and Man over. Texas runs really simple coverages, but good luck figuring what they're in presnap while trying to figure out if it's a simulated pressure or if they're coming or not, and if they are coming who's coming as a first time starter. Hartline can only help for 15 seconds then comms shut off.
  22. As I watch the Michigan/Ohio State game I'm so glad we got Baxter and Clark back. I can't wait until we get in short yardage and goal to go situations where we aren't running zone schemes.
  23. Texas is already motivated, Ohio State is the last team to beat them. Nothing any player or coach says or doesn't is going to motivate them more or tame their motivation.
