But what if you have no titles to show? IMO winning a national title is what truly makes you elite. If you get to your achieved goal and have nothing to show for it then you're just underachieving. Do you currently consider Penn State elite?

I don’t think 9-3 makes playoff. Similar to in the 4 team playoff a 2 loss team is death wish and never made it. 10-2 should be the standard. The difference between really good and elite will be determined if there is ever another undefeated national champion or 1 loss national champion. While a team could be a 2 loss national champion I think that would be considered very good team.

In the old days they would have bought Williams....in the landscape of NIL LSU cannot keep up. If it wasn't for Marucci for baseball they'd be screwed there too.

In the 3 and done day I can't see it being broken. Only possible way I think is with the CFB schedule including playoffs 16-17 games MAYBE. His career record could be broken IMO especially with the above mentioned scenario for the single season.

It will still require NIL even if the schools can pay. Anyone who chooses not to compete in NIL alongside school payments would be falling behind.

I really like Lacey and from a prospect standpoint Russell isn't far behind. I feel the key for DK Moore is getting Russell so I tend to go with Russell over Lacey for that aspect.

Texas baseball would be top 5 in the SEC and no it's not on the level of LSU but no one else is either. NIL isn't the issue. The issue is Pierce and how he has chosen to use NIL. He has not and will not fare well in the NIL/portal era of college athletics. His personality, demeanor, and etc don't jive with what you need from a coach in this era. The initial list that @Blake Munroe has in one of his post can be slimmed down to these following candidates in order IMO: 1 Erik Bakich - Clemson 2 Mike Canham - Oregon St 3 Tom Walter - Wake Forest 4. Rob Vaughn - Alabama 5A. Cliff Godwin - ECU 5B. Tony Vitello - Tennessee(Personally I wouldn't like this hire and not many would but it's an outside the box hire for Texas. He's a relentless recruiter and players coach who I think could implement our NIL in a modern proper manner to get the most out of teams)

No because strictly recruiting Texas just because we're Texas will set the roster up for failure. Texas doesn't produce consistently good talent at about 2-3 very important positions.

Tulo = Rodney Terry Would be a feel good story but if you want to be the best in everything you conduct an actual search with real candidates.

It's definitely had....you don't have a pitch if you can't consistently hit said pitch. That's why the initial comment of just a fastball was warranted.

Vaughn would crush it at Texas. I'm friends with a private trainer that knows him well and he said of the list I saw of potential replacement candidates that Vaughn would crush it at Texas because how he recruits, his personality and that he's a players coach that lets them have their own personality. I don't personally like Vitello but his personality and fire would ignite the NIL side of Texas baseball and he's a hell of a recruiter(relentless).

Lets see how Cal adjust to NIL/transfer era....going freshmen heavy doesn't seem like the best strategy anymore.

Witt has been a non factor since his surgery. The future of the program doesn't look promising as it appears Pierce isn't equipped for the NIL/portal era of baseball. Moving to the SEC will only compound this problem further. My opinion we should be thankful for what Pierce has accomplished at Texas but ask him to move on or we move on for him. I don't have any confidence he will ever win a championship at Texas.
