    It only doesn’t work out when you have a guy who doesn’t instill culture. Lanning is a big time coach and runs his program the right way. He learned from one of the best and he’s disciplined. Recruits have been going to schools for decades for under the table cash and those players were winning titles at schools like Clemson, Alabama, and Ohio St. I wish Texas fans a whole would stop this talk about mercenaries and that. It’s the landscape, you think there aren’t guys on our current roster who chose us for a NIL package?

    No, Sark choosing not to spend the market value or slightly above at the position has hurt Texas. Knowing the guy doesn’t have the skins on the wall , we needed to go above and beyond to give the guy a leg up on a top 3 most competitive NIL market position.

    That comparison is irrelevant as I am not blaming baker at all in this instance but rather his boss who is refusing to spend the money necessary at the position that requires top NIL dollars.

    We’re about to be 0-4 on our top 4 prospects at the position with the lone guy committed who at best should be the 3rd-4th DT in a class. Especially when we’ve ignored in state recruits. Absolute oversight and failure by Sark and Co to not invest more NIL into the position to help the new DL coach with no skins on wall.
