  1. Great interview. love his combination of drive / passion balanced with humility. Awesome to have Arch as our QB starter now, no more controversy. Hook em’!!! 🤘🏼🐂🧡
  2. Ready for new ownership since 1994. 😞
  3. Agree. As a lifetime Cowboys fan back to the 70s, 80s and 90s, it is impossible to be a fan these days given the complete joke Jerry is. Only seem focused on ego, control and making money. Feeling incredibly grateful the Horns are in great hands and masterful leadership with CDC and Sark!! Hook em! 🤘🏼🐂🧡
  4. Awesome!! Love it!! Hook em!!
  5. Love reading that Sark is interviewing OSU assistant LaAllan Clark to possibly fill new position on defensive staff, focused on developing defensive end pass rush. Looks like he’s trained over 50 NFL Defensive Ends. Hope this happens as Sark keeps raising the bar. Hook em! https://atozsports.com/college-football/ohio-state-buckeyes-news/texas-pursuit-key-ohio-state-assistant-forces-ryan-day-tough-staff-decisions-laallen-clark/ https://www.elevenwarriors.com/ohio-state-football/2023/02/137221/ohio-state-hires-laallan-clark-who-has-trained-more-than-50-nfl-defenders-as-defensive-line-graduate-assistant?amp
  6. @Bobby Burton you had the most awesome moment this morning on Coffee & Football during closing remarks when you had a smile on your face while talking in code about an announcement likely coming later today as part of taking OTF to the next level! I loved the dream team picture post on this thread earlier cuz that’s what it feels like. @Bobby Burton @Gerry Hamilton @CJ Vogel @Rod Babers @Blake Munroe and now @Jeff Howe. Unbelievable mix of incredible men who love the Horns, each of you know your stuff and have thoughtful perspectives. Most important, you call it like you see and keep it real without going negative like some sites. Love the positive vibe, high integrity, depth of insider knowledge, collaborative spirit, and genuine love for the Horns at OTF. Keep up the great work. Oh, Jeff, great first perspective on 3rd yr player importance. Love it!! Hook em!! 🧡🤘🏼🐂
  7. Completely understood your point and agreed with it. Realize my prior post may not have been as clear. It seems ironic that Day went from being ‘hated’ by OSU fans back in late Nov when they wanted him gone after the surprising loss to Michigan and now, after winning 4 straight, how would those same fans feel if he was able to get a gig in the NFL over the next couple weeks, leaving OSU like Harbaugh did to Mich last winter? Offensive minded coach with one of the best winning percentages of any college coach in past 50 yrs. Will be interesting to see if he stays.
  8. I read this earlier today about ACC evaluating and thought it was a joke. They need to cancel conf championships IMO. Creates imbalance advantage as some teams get extra rest (eg Ohio State and ND this year). Name conf champs based on regular season results plus tie breaker. Makes every conf game count. In current format Notre Dame has an obvious advantage by always getting 3 weeks rest in early Dec. Expand to 16 teams for CFP and Top 15 (plus Highest Group of Five) simply get seeded with top 8 teams hosting round 1 the first weekend of Dec. Mid-Dec is Quarterfinals and 4 winning teams play in 2 premier bowl games on New Years Day. National Championship 10-12 Days later (on Friday night instead of Monday night) so that College Football ends just as NFL playoffs begin. This allows full month of December to be the month of College Playoffs. Heard Joel Klatt suggest similar 10 days back and loved the idea. This would make for 2 ultimate Vegas long weekends back to back in early January. New Years Day would be incredible if every year it was the Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl that hosted the Semi Finals. National Championship could rotate. This year that would have put the National Championship on Friday, Jan 10th followed by 3 straight days of NFL Wildcard Playoffs. Feels anticlimactic to have College National Championship on Jan 20th. JMO.
  9. Game 1 next season is gonna be 🔥 Hook em!! 🐂🤘🏼🧡
  10. Did you notice during the interview just now when he was asked what his plans are for next season, he didn’t exactly give an answer that would inspire buckeye confidence that he is returning. Will Day interview with any NFL team and consider bolting the buckeyes while on top?
  11. I’m betting the entire Horns football team as well as all the coaches watched tonight’s game, went through all the emotions you’d expect while watching the game, knowing they had a real shot to be in this year’s game…….then they turned off the TV, set the alarm for 430am and said “time to get to work”. I’m so f’ing fired up for offseason workouts and spring ball to start. 2025 is gonna be a great season for the Longhorns. Hook em! 🤘🏼🐂🧡
  12. It’s impressive how strong Cosmi has become on Commanders OL after he switched from Tackle to Guard Looked painful seeing the injury happen on TV. Wish him the best in recovery. Hook em!
  13. Well said. Thought it was funny during the Chiefs game when Joe Buck and Troy Aikman made a reference to the betting line and certain people having a reaction after KC took the intentional safety. I’m not a gambler but can imagine that would be maddening.
  14. Agree somewhat. LSU completely got it done on Daniel’s side of the ball. They had the #1 Ranked Offense in 2023. Could not do much better. Hard to believe LSU was the #108 Ranked Defense. That’s crazy, especially given all the talent they had on both sides of the ball in 2023. That’s one of many things I love about the Horns is the balance of strength on both sides. hook em!!
  15. Unbelievably impressive win for Washington at Detroit with dominating offense all game, ~500 yds offense, 300 in the air, 3 of 4 on 4th downs and 5 defensive takeaways. Commanders kept foot pressed all the way down on the pedal when they were up by 10pts in the fourth quarter. DQ didn’t settle for field goal on 4th down in 4th qtr. Killer mindset. Jayden Daniels is special. It all starts with having a great coach (Dan Quinn was excellent hire), clutch QB (JD doesn’t look like a rookie)…….Commanders look strong in virtually all facets of their offense and defense. One of the best NFL playoff games I recall seeing in a while. I hope the Horns get this mindset next season. Total confidence in QB. Get more aggressive in 2nd half even when the Horns have lead…..#AllGasNoBrakes! Btw, as a lifelong Cowboy fan, this is painful as Washington looks even more dangerous than Philly. Looks like to Cowboys drought will continue for another decade. At least we have the Horns!! any other thoughts on tonight’s game? Hook em!!!
  16. Horns247 members are understandably disappointed by the news but classy in their appreciation for Jeff and all he’s contributed. Thought it was great to see 247 members also show love on their board for @Bobby Burton and appreciation for what OTF has quickly become over the past 13 months. Hook em! 🧡🐂🤘🏼
  17. I hope the Buckeyes win selfishly as a Longhorn fan. Makes our loss in semi finals slightly less painful but more importantly, it would make game 1 next season even more dramatic. I wouldn’t be surprised to see UT and OSU to likely be #1 v #2 pre-season plus it would be great to beat defending national champs to start next season. Hook em!!
  18. @Bobby Burton I love the rockstar team you’ve assembled and infectious positive culture fostered at OTF with @Gerry Hamilton @CJ Vogel @Blake Munroe @Rod Babers plus all the other regulars and guests each week. I try to catch as much as possible each day on OTF as the other sites seem to be a distant second. If Jeff H ends up joining OTF, that would be awesome and almost seems unfair to IT, OB and others as you keep taking OTF to the next level month after month. Hook em and keep up the great work. You make being a DieHard Longhorn fan so much fun. 🤘🏼🐂🧡
  19. I thought I heard Sark on record this past year supporting the idea of having only one transfer portal window and make it in the spring. Whether it’s the first 10 days of Jan (before spring semester starts) or later in the spring, it makes sense to only have one transfer window per year. What other schedule changes are coming? I liked Klatt’s recommendation this week to move up the college football schedule so that the entire month of December was college playoffs then end with national championship on NewYears Day. That idea would align well with this new transfer portal schedule occurring Jan 2 - 12.
  20. Will be interesting to see if this gets passed and what other rules get modified this spring. https://apple.news/AIUbH7nbqR0W0ksQ0n0eZFA
  21. I think I agree with you. We play 15 games in Jan/Feb. 11 of these games are against ranked teams. We need to win all 4 games against unranked SEC opponents and at least 4 of the 11 other games against ranked teams for UT to have anything that feels positive this season. Even that would mean 8-7 over the 2 month stretch.
  22. Agree. I’ve read speculation that if RT can at least make the NCAA tournament as a 8-9 seed, he likely gets another year. Why? It’s clear watching the team, we need upgrade in head coach and staff (recruiting, portal, scheme, player development, etc) CDC pulled the trigger last summer in baseball and I hope this spring it’s time for big upgrade in men’s basketball.
  23. Sark building his legacy at UT to be on our Mount Rushmore of greatest coaches ever with Arch on deck and #1 ranked class. Next several years look to be special. Jimmy Sexton is sure to leverage this year’s result plus NFL threat into some new upgrades for Sark (eg additional investments into expanded staff, etc) plus new perks in his package (eg new vacation homes in Turks and Telluride) plus more cash guaranteed on his contract after 2 semi-final appearances. As others have said, Sark has control over every aspect of his horns. I hope he’s at UT at least another 3 years. Hook em!!
  24. Nate Oats would be a home run hire if CDC could make it happen. Who else is likely to be on CDC’s short list? Ridiculous that the SEC is so loaded with 10 ranked teams and UT not even in the Top25. Longhorns appear to be in bottom 4 of SEC. Crazy. Salt in the would is seeing Barnes have such great success at the other UT. Happy for him. Great coach who builds strong sustaining programs. It’s year 2 under RT and we seem to be regressing. In any other major sport this would be automatic time for major upgrade at end of this year by CDC.
  25. Well said. Think about what this team would have looked like against Georgia with a healthy CJ Baxter. Losing CJ for the season was a massive blow yet incredibly impressive what TW and JB have accomplished in the backfield. Sark has had to modify ‘the script’ many times without having a strong downhill running attack. That’s had some impact on the team reaching potential with consistent offense IMHO
