  1. The topic of negative recruiting has been brought up before. I was wondering if Bobby and Gerry could talk about the difference between drawing a distinction between schools and negative recruiting. What crosses that line. Any examples would be great. @Blake Munroe I can never watch live but always catch up later in the day. Thx.
  2. Wonder if he would consider a fall commitment. Or be eligible for an in-season flip. Get out the spatulas!
  3. That could be part of an elite run. But 9-3 with no playoff wins by itself is not elite. Put another way, going 9-3 every year with no postseason success would put a coach on the hot seat at a place like Texas.
  4. Solely making the playoffs is not elite. If Texas went 9-3 they would need to win 1-2 games in the playoffs to have a successful season.
  5. Has Manny been exclusively playing the boundary corner spot this spring and is there a chance he could move to field with the departure of Brooks? Thx.
  6. PSA, please don’t put your real answers here. 🤫🤫
  7. Same. Mongo shouldn’t be eligible. Put VY for 1. Kidding!!
  8. I think he’s undoubtedly a good coach, maybe even championship level with the right pieces (an overwhelming amount of talent). But the jury is still out on if he’s great and can elevate or coach above his talent pool. When the head coach is offensive minded I’d like the DC to be an absolute wizard in the Smart/Muschamp mold. I’d like him to be the CEO of the defense with his handprints, footprints, and teeth marks over the whole operation. With PK, I didn’t hear much of his involvement with the Baker and Nansen hires. I don’t hear much about his evaluation and recruitment of players outside his position area. I see things like Patterson being brought in to help at a high level. On offense, due to Sark, everything is aligned from scheme, to personnel, to recruiting, and position group coaching. I don’t think you can say the same about the D.

  10. @Immamac @Bobby Burton maybe add this to the original post
  11. I’d be fine trying to lockdown Kelshaun and Lockett, and keeping a spot open for either Moore or Ffrench and not reaching for anyone else.
  12. Sorry for the tangent, but I have a general recruiting question. When looking at the recruiting calendar what is considered an early/late offer these days? Is it as simple as: offer during sophomore season or before = early offer during jr season throughout the summer = normal/average offer during senior season = late Or is there a more nuanced answer?
  13. I think Taysom Hill just scored.
  14. Why is Hutson never mentioned in this race? Seems like he provides the best blend of pass protection, run game physicality, and experience.
  15. Wasn’t Neto listed as one of the toughest/meanest on the roster? Zina should be used to getting picked on by big bro growing up 😂
  16. Only if his name begins with D and rhymes with Floor, haha.
  17. Sark is good at breaking tendencies. So even if usage trends in one direction, he can exploit matchups later. Remember the Iowa St game when Helm was dialed up on some plays you might have expected for JT.
  18. This also makes me feel better in case the spring game visit falls through. Of course if all of them remain even better.
  19. Wanted to edit but CJ made my point about 2006. His skepticism about 07 also correct.
  20. Great discussion, but can’t believe all three of y’all confused the 2006 team with 2007. 2006 six was championship caliber with the exception of freshman colt at qb. But both lines and many skill positions were stout. We went on a run after the Ohio St loss only to falter after Colt got knocked out of KSU and A&M games. Maybe would have missed the playoff but only due to Colt’s injury. Definitely a good team to be proud of. 07 was the disaster with nailbiters against Arkansas St and UCF. Defense was terrible and the offense inconsistent despite JamChuck’s brilliance. Even John Chiles got some legit snaps at qb. The only good thing about this season was Macduff getting fired so that Muschamp could be brought in for the 08-09 run. Good topic, fun discussion.
  21. Hi OTF, Would it be possible to spend some time and do a deep dive on all the new network deals and conference affiliations? I know CBS will no longer do the SEC game of the week and Fox will now have a Friday night game. It would be great to get a sense of where all of the games will appear and be slotted. (IE the SEC #1 will go on abc primetime, SEC #2 ESPN 11am, BIG 10 #1 CBS 230, or whatever the case may be). Might be good off season content, especially during the dog days of summer. And if anyone has a great article that outlines all of this, please share!
