What i wonder about and have mentioned before………it seems like this Texas team doesn’t show up fired up and ready to play. I called it sleepwalking last night. You sleepwalk in the SEC for long and you are beat. Usually you have a few coaches that are firey guys that get them going or the strength coach/staff. Texas too often seems flat to me. The one time we saw them come out fired up with after a dismal performance against Florida and came out with an attitude against Oklahoma and we saw how that went. I don’t know if it is players are getting paid now and it’s more like the NFL or what, but we don’t seem to come ready to play enough.

Man I don’t understand Sark not taking some portal offensive linemen. He was going into the season with Goosby had played a little bit. Hutson had played some Baker played none LG whoever was there had played none Campbell played alot as a starter And you know you’re going to have injuries and whoever comes off the bench has played none. Man that’s just not enough experience for an SEC schedule with a brand new QB that hasn’t played much and receivers that haven’t played much. We really shouldn’t be surprised.

I have said for a long time that the head coach at Texas has too many demands on his time to be a head coach and a player caller. Especially offensive coordinator. Offensive coordinator has to really spend alot of time in the film room to develop a proper game plan. Sark has a young wife at home that he nearly got divorced from and then had a new baby. He doesn’t have time to prepare to call plays. He counts on Milwee, that other QB coach and analyst to break the tape down and it doesn’t work at a place like Texas. I don’t really know who out there could take Texas to the top…..if anyone. For some reason it is a hard place to win. We’ve been mostly bad since 2010. We’ll see what happens. We can’t keep playing like we have mostly this year or CDC needs to clean house and find someone better.

From here on out we will see two or three deep and every team thinking they can stop the run and whip our offensive line and if we can’t run the ball we are in for some long days.

I’m not for sure what it takes to win consistently at Texas. I had given up that we would find out and then Sark gets here and gets killed his first year and then shows consistent improvement. Makes the playoffs the last two years, recruiting great, bringing in quality guys in the portal and everything trending up. All that and then we go into Ohio State ranked #1 and I’m thinking we finally found who can win at Texas. Lose a close game there and didn’t play our best and I’m still thinking ok we’re improving. Then we struggle with San Jose St, struggle with UTEP. Come into a 1-3 Florida and get completely manhandled. Now we are back to unsure who can go to the top at Texas and stay there. Maybe in this new college football world no team will consistently win. I don’t know. I hardly ever feel like our team comes out fired up and ready and jumps on an opponent and keeps that fire all day long. We usually play two good quarters. I never feel like we’re the best prepared, the most well coached. Sark always says the other team shows us something we hadn’t seen and it confused us or we have to play a cleaner game after the hundredth 12 penalty game. All that to say we’re back to way more questions than we have answers. I wouldn’t put any money that Sark is the man to take us and keep us to the top. Sorry post is so long. Just damn frustrated as usual.

Lots of problems exposed today that it’s hard to have confidence that it’s going to get better. We looked like we didn’t come ready to play today and that’s concerning since they had two weeks to prepare. Florida prepared. There is sure no easy games the rest of the way. Even Arkansas will play hard because Texas is their Super Bowl.

No of course not and I know they are really just looking at guys but I didn’t expect them to score 11 runs on our pitching and us only score 4 on their pitching. Maybe Lamar is pretty good. Kinda like UTSA last year. Everybody has good players

On Coffee and Football yesterday it was mentioned by Bryan Erwin that he wants to see some of these running backs run like that butt was on fire. I still don’t see any of them run like that. Some of it is running out of the shotgun formation, it is so slow developing. Slow getting started and sometimes the hole has closed before they get going. Today they got a few yards but we should have been able to run at will on San Jose State. They run nearly every thing between the tackles. I’d like to see a toss sweep to try to stretch it outside. Our running backs juke and jive trying to find a few yards. It’s too slow developing. Today wasn’t what he meant running like your butt is on fire.

What would you think about cutting the NIL money during/if there is a suspension? I doubt there will be a suspension though but just saying you start cutting into people’s money they will start calling an Uber
