  1. Camp Waldemar Camp Waldemar is a girl’s encampment along the banks of the Guadalupe River in the Texas Hill Country. In the spring of 1984 I was a sophomore in high school playing football and track. One day after practice our QB, a guy named Matt Burns stopped me in the parking lot at school and invited me to a meeting of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) a ministry aimed at players, coaches and officials in the athletic world. I went to the meeting and soon became involved in a Bible study. A few weeks later I signed up for an event called “Weekend of Champions” to be held at Camp Waldemar. My school took about 8-10 athletes and it was to change my life. The last night there, along the tranquil banks of the Guadalupe River, I surrendered my life to Jesus Christ. Our camp counselors included college athletes including two from the University of Texas (OL Greg Wright and Punter John Teltshick). Both of them prayed with me, which was an awesome experience since they were teammates with my brother Russell. Teltshick would become an All-American and spent several years as the punter for the Philadelphia Eagles. Yesterday when I heard of the tragic events in the hill country, it made me think of that special moment in my life. I continue to pray for the families that have lost so much. Jesus please embrace and welcome those little children who were lost Amen

  5. I have known Bobby since college and I know he hates my politics....but that is cool
  6. Throw in Longhorn Bob Wheeler and make it a 3some
  7. They are doing away with walk-ons. NIL will take care of the rest
  8. Agreed! Does anyone remember in the early days of the internet there was a site called "Hornsfans"? They started off great and threw awesome tailgates, the owner / moderator would not tolerate criticism of the program and banned people for trivial things. Eventually people found other places to post
  9. IT was founded by Robert Heard. In Webster's under "Curmudgeon" it says "See Robert Heard". Its in their blood
  10. Great to hear! It all begins with economics although it is hard for 18-22 year olds to see that beyond the glitter of D1 football
  11. Whenever Texas goes after kids from California or Texas kids looking to sign with USC, do our coaches ever point out that any money made by signing with USC will be heavily taxed? Food and Fuel prices are astronomical compared to what other states have. I am surprised kids would sign with California schools. Whenever Texas host recruits they should have them sit through a 30 minute presentation by an economics grad student and show them how it makes little economic sense to go to school in a tax happy state
  12. Taxes are just the beginning. Food prices, fuel prices, wildfires, riots, earthquakes....
