  1. That’s actually a very fair list. I’m not sure I would have Nussmeier at 1, but that’s just me. I would have Lagway, Manning, and Sellers at 1-3.
  2. I agree but he actually got better in recent years. Before, it was like nails on a chalkboard—interrupting everyone, talking in the loudest monotone, and rambling on with weird NBA analogies. But he became much more listenable.
  3. I second this! Huge fan of everything he does. Gotta get The Blitz on OTF!
  4. @Bobby Burton @CJ Vogel We all know that Sark loves his speed WRs. There’s really nobody on campus in that Bond/Worthy mold and they’re not aggressively pursuing anyone like that in the portal. As you noted on the livestream tonight, they’ve suddenly brought in a bunch of bigger bodies. Do you think that Sark has watched his smaller, speedy receivers struggle to get open against more physical SEC defenses and made a philosophical change to emphasize bigger receivers for that reason?
  5. Say what you will about Aggie, but they are going all-in on revamping their WR room. I guess Sark and the coaches are content with what they have on campus? I love our talent but I am a bit surprised. We don’t have much experience or the speed receiver that Sark usually covets.
  6. Any potential interest here? Very much a large human and is a multiple all-conference player.
  7. I definitely prefer Omari Evans anyway, who I hope we decide to pursue.
  8. The key numbers for me, taking into account that he played in a run-first offense, are the 20 YPC, number of explosive plays per reception, and number of touchdowns per reception. He seems like a great fit for Arch to throw it deep.
  9. You’re absolutely right, and this staff clearly prioritizes HS recruiting more than other programs (Ole Miss, etc)—as they should! But I also know that this 2024 team doesn’t get to the semifinals without badass, experienced talent out of the portal like Golden and Mukuba. Maybe the coaches are seeing what emerges in the spring portal, or maybe they’re trusting their ability to develop elite talent. Or maybe their NIL is stretched too thin on retention to make a big splash in the portal. I trust this staff implicitly, I do. Let’s hope the young talent develops quickly, though, because on paper this offense doesn’t even come close to resembling the level of experienced depth from 2024. Let’s not forget that the 2023 Michigan team, the 2024 OSU team—they were loaded with talent, but they were also super experienced. If we don’t go hard in the spring portal and supplement the existing roster with more experience at key offensive positions, I’m probably readjusting my expectations for next year.
  10. I hear you, and I hope you’re right. There’s no doubt that the roster is loaded with elite talent. My biggest concern is inexperience. We are counting on a ton of guys who haven’t ever seen the field to take a huge leap. Who do we have at TE that can seamlessly replace Helm? Jordan Washington is incredibly talented, but we have no idea if he’s ready to be a high-level contributor. Wisner is solid, but is he an all-conference-level player? Baxter could be that, but we have no idea when he’s going to come back from that injury and whether he is ready to pick up where he left off. At WR, we have a crazy amount of talent, no doubt. But DeAndre Moore was not reliable down the stretch, and although Wingo just oozes elite playmaking he still has a lot of developing to do in order to become a complete RECEIVER. Who else do we have that is ready to be a bona fide badass for an inexperienced Arch? And maybe the scariest position of all: the OL. I love Goosby and think he’s a future day 1 NFL pick. But outside of that, the line looks ROUGH. Pregnon offered an all-conference-level presence that would have dramatically improved the line. Sorry, but it scares me to think that Arch is going to sit behind Neto, Hutson, and DJ next year. That might be a pretty solid run-blocking interior, but they might get Arch killed.
  11. I know that this staff is patient in the portal, and I appreciate that. The difference is that by this time last year, Texas already had Bond, Golden, Mukuba, Bolden, and Niblack. So no, I don’t think I am overreacting.
  12. The lack of urgency the staff has had in the portal this year is concerning. Next year the team will be either inexperienced or inconsistent at QB, WR, RB, TE, and OL. The Texas offensive coaches need to do some serious development this spring or Arch is going to have to put on a cape to get this team to the playoffs. Texas will needs to make some serious moves in the spring portal.
  13. I’m sorry for your loss, Jbf19. OTF has really blossomed into something special, that brings us joy as individual fans but also creates bonds between friends and family. I watch just about every daily OTF show and so does everyone on my Horns text chain. Thanks to the OTF crew for being such a source of comfort and camaraderie for your almost 70K fans!
  14. Can people please stop taking a twitter account named Dick Cheese seriously?
  15. Cowboys draft night from the mobile command center!
  16. This is an absolutely horrid take. A healthy Bond is among the most feared, explosive players in the country. We should do whatever it takes to retain him. Also, Bolden is out of eligibility, so your solution isn’t much of a solution.
  17. If somebody doesn’t ask him why he called that horrible HB pitch instead of putting in Arch for a qb sneak or, hell, running it under center 4 straight plays, it will be journalistic malpractice.
  18. Every single person watching was screaming it at the tv. Put in Arch, qb sneak! Easy TD from the 1.
  19. No, I don’t know that for a fact. But I do know that Hutson has looked average at best when he’s played this year and he has consistently graded out horribly. I’ve liked Conner Robertson when he’s come in for Majors, so not worried there. But the consistent knock against both Campbell and Neto (behind the scenes) has been mediocre pass pro. So, you’re right—I don’t know any more than you do what the line will look like next year. But I also know that Flood has been very hesitant to use the portal, so it’s extremely telling that he is bringing this guy in.
  20. Totally agree. The second-team interior OL is a pretty big drop-off from the first team. We could use all the help we can get.
  21. Campbell needs to work his ass off to improve at pass pro in the offseason. He’s been the weak link by far on the line. He’s a very good run blocker when he’s on, but he also needs to improve his consistency. He gets beat more than I would have expected at this point in his career.
  22. I doubt Campbell goes pro. He’s too inconsistent and surely won’t get a strong draft grade. I’m more worried about Hutson starting than anything. Hutson hasn’t gotten any better since his freshman season.
  23. That would be massive. I don’t love our interior OL options next year. Pregnon would be a huge upgrade.
