  1. If A&M and Oregon ever meet in the playoffs, Joe Z and Gerry might burn OTF to the ground
  2. I think that makes them the QB fluffers of college football.
  3. Seems like you can read a lot between the lines about how Day thinks this game is going to play out. He expects Texas to come out swinging and Sark will have a strong script. His comments about halftime adjustments being critical and begging the fans to make a difference suggest to me that he thinks Texas might go up in the first half. His comments about surrounding Sayin with talent suggest to me that he isn’t totally sold that Sayin can win them this game. The vibes feel completely different compared with Sark yesterday.
  4. Just checked this morning and OTF is up to 168K subs!! That level of growth is crazy. Congrats, @Bobby Burton and OTF team. What a huge accomplishment that speaks to your impeccable quality, humility, charisma, and tremendous community. The best in the biz!
  5. That actually concerns me about Mosley having the kind of impact this season that we all expected. It reminds me a bit of Silas Bolden. They both missed spring practice and came in during the summer. That meant they were already behind the other WRs on campus and did not have a rapport with the starting QB. Bolden was really damn good, extremely proven as a high-level college WR, and he could never see the field last year. This injury may have dealt a devastating blow to Mosley’s prospects this year simply because the staff has to roll with what they know at this point.
  6. They were utterly decimated by the portal over the last 3-4 years, but especially this spring.
  7. Likely Maraad Watson, freshman all-American. Hero Kanu has also supposedly come on strong, but he will rotate in as the 5th guy.
  8. It would make Ryan Lochte turned loose in Brazil look like America’s best and brightest.
  9. But seriously, I’ve been craving a show like this for a long time. Love the idea, Blake—can’t wait to listen!
  10. I’ve enjoyed Jeff’s longer-form articles for years. They really add another dimension to the OTF content. Awesome job as always, @Jeff Howe!
  11. That sounds like the College Station version of “2 girls, 1 cup”
  12. At least their reaction was better than Conner Weigman’s
  13. Possibilities for me at the end of the year: Wingo, Endries, and Goosby on offense Watson, Derek Williams on defense
  14. Joe Z’s version of a “my son is an honor student” bumper sticker
  15. I agree wholeheartedly. If this line, which should be full of maulers on the interior, doesn’t improve its run blocking, to me suggests there are issues with Flood’s scheme. I guess we won’t know until they actually start playing the games!
  16. No doubt. I also get that OL development is always a bit unpredictable and usually takes years. But IMO Flood has recruited too many projects and not enough elite prospects. It’s not all his fault—they clearly desperately wanted Fasusi last year, for instance. But the chickens have come home to roost a bit. As solid as OL recruiting has been under Sark, the difference between solid and elite very well could mean the difference between winning it all and not.
  17. That’s totally fair. I would be happy to eat my words. But Sark himself said that he was more concerned about OL depth than anything else on his roster. You’d think that wouldn’t be an issue in the portal era. But, hey, I hope they go out and assuage all my doubts.
  18. I completely agree with this. I can’t believe Sark allowed it to come to this. Flood’s recruiting and development since that 2022 class have simply not been good enough.
  19. Admittedly this information is being reported by some Texas sites, who claim to have heard it from OSU reporters and insiders. So take the information with a huge grain of salt. If it’s not being reported by OSU sites, then clearly there might be some mis-reporting happening on the Texas side. I suppose we will find out in a couple of weeks!
  20. The reports are that right now Sayin has been letting pressure turn into turnovers. That’s not going to be a winning formula against THIS pass rush.
  21. This can mean a lot of things. How do you interpret his response based on body language, context, etc?
  22. @Gerry Hamilton isn’t the word that he has some sort of ankle injury? I can’t believe that’s held him out so long during fall camp.
  23. I think he can give this team some of what JWhitt provided in 2023: toughness, downfield blocking, a reliable target on 3rd down who can get to the chains. But he’s also bigger than JWhitt, so he can also offer a big target in the red zone to make the contested catches. We don’t necessarily need him to be a deep threat, because Wingo, Moore, and Livingstone are already filling that role. Mosley adds several capabilities that don’t exist elsewhere on the roster.
  24. It’s not unlike UT’s situation. The narrative is that Texas is replacing 4 starters, which is true technically speaking. But LT Trevor Goosby filled in for an injured Kelvin Banks during Texas’s key stretch of games against A&M, Georgia, and Clemson. So he has been battled tested and looked awesome. Cole Hutson replaces Jake Majors at C, but Hutson started several games his freshman year and played heavily at RG last year. The only two players with limited starting or playing experience are at LG (a senior) and RT (RS freshman 5-star). So the notion that Texas is replacing 4/5 starters and is young at OL is definitely a misconception. The key will be whether this line gels as well as last year’s.
