  1. That’s a high level of playmaking production two years in a row. I know he’s coming from a lower level, but worth kicking the tires to replace the playmaking we’re losing in Taaffe and Mukuba?
  2. Part of the problem is there just were not any Walter Nolan (or even Collins/Broughton) level DTs in the winter portal. Presumably because there haven’t been many wild coaching changes like last year, which likely was an anomaly. Hopefully we will see more portal entries after bowl season and again in the spring. We did get Norton and Lole in the spring portal window, so there’s still a chance.
  3. It only counts if you then go and revel in TexAgs misery for another hour or two. This morning is now a struggle, but that misery was worth it!
  4. They don’t get to have it both ways. They’ve been telling us since the portal opened that they’re not losing any key contributors, that they’re all either backups or injured players. If that’s true, they don’t now get to claim they’re shorthanded for the bowl game.
  5. Didn’t know that—thanks for the tip!
  6. You are legitimately the worst poster on this board. I have yet to see a post that adds anything of value whatsoever. I sure wish we had a block button.
  7. The FACT when I made the post was that Navy had outscored OU 21-0 since the first quarter. OU scoring subsequently did not negate the veracity of my post at the time it was posted. The POINT was that Navy was significantly outplaying OU. So what was YOUR point aside from being a pedant? Your post added nothing of value aside from puffing your chest out and being “right” (even though you neither negated the factuality or conceptual validity of my post).
  8. At the time that I input the message, it was 21-0. But thanks for your pedantic response that, as always, completely misses the point.
  9. Navy has shut them out 21-0 for the last three quarters. What a disaster for OU.
  10. I seem to remember Sooner fans swearing before the season that their defense was not only better than UT’s, but the best in the SEC. This is the same Navy offense that was shut out by Tulane and put up 14 against Rice.
  11. They really pillaged Kennesaw State. I’m sure those Fightin’ Owls are going to make all the difference.
  12. This is the same Navy team that lost 51-14 to ND and 35-0 to Tulane. OU is in huge trouble as a program. They don’t exactly have elite portal reinforcements on the way. They might be even worse next year.
  13. This feels about right. I watched them against KSU and was NOT impressed. KSU threw up all over themselves and turned it over in their own territory on the first 2-3 possessions, allowing ASU to go up 21-0 in the first. But then KSU outscored them 14-3 the rest of the way. Leavitt is a nice player and he can scramble a bit, but he makes freshman mistakes and is not even close to Klubnik. The ASU o-line is awful. KSU was in the backfield constantly and held Skattebo to 2.9 YPC. KSU also ran on them at will. ASU is not as good as A&M. In fact, A&M would probably beat them by 10. As long as we don’t beat ourselves, this game isn’t close.
  14. Maybe he wasn’t actually watching Quinn that closely, because those are two of Quinn’s absolute worst qualities as a QB.
  15. This game reminds me a bit of the first Georgia game. PSU hasn’t been particularly impressive offensively, but SMU has turned it over and given them consistently strong field position.
  16. James Franklin makes his expected boneheaded playcall. Lucky for him, SMU looks almost as lost as IU did on offense.
  17. What’s very obvious thus far is that these lower-tier playoff teams (IU, SMU) clearly are not physically ready to go up against elite defenses. I don’t even think ND and PSU are “elite” teams, but there are levels to this. I don’t think Bama and Ole Miss deserved to get in the playoff, but there’s no doubt they would not have gotten whipped like this.
  18. You’re really good at avoiding the point, aren’t you? The POINT, whether you like PFF or not, is that he is a quality DT.
  19. Okay, but you’re gonna tell me that any of these guys in the portal are better than Golden or that the coaches wouldn’t want him back for another year? And Bond IS a speed WR, hence my question.
  20. @Gerry Hamilton do you think the Texas coaches are being cautious with WRs in the portal because they think there’s a chance they could get Bond and/or Golden for another year? I know Bond wanted to be one and done, but he’s not getting any 1st round draft grades anymore since that injury. Feels like he could benefit from another healthy season.
  21. PFF has him rated as a top-10 DT in the country this year, so definitely a take.
