  1. Who are you talking to—me or Sark? I don’t see any problem with Sark exuding confidence about his team. And if this team is the best roster in the country, maybe it should be deserving of preseason #1. But they’d better back up the talk.
  2. It’s a pretty surprising statement for him to admit that he hasn’t felt like he’s had a complete roster in terms of top-level talent on both sides of the ball until this year. In the interview, he also explicitly compares this roster to the ones he had at Bama. It’s hard to argue with those assessments on paper. I think Texas has the best roster in the country going into the 2026 season. But Sark also needs to elevate his coaching to match those claims. This might be the best chance he ever gets at Texas to win it all—can’t squander this roster.
  3. Don’t be touchy, Joseph. I’m just being playful.
  4. Don’t you live in a state with a population of like 14?
  5. I love that he looks at Larry Allen as his comp. If he can bring even a fraction of that nastiness, look out on the left side.
  6. Interesting that he spends so much time appealing to patriotism, the constitution, the importance of college athletics as a fundamentally American institution and then proceeds to describe college sports as a public good that should be effectively owned by the state. And his solution is collectivized pooling of media rights. I’m not commenting on the legitimacy of his proposed solution (which is stupid), but the hypocrisy is just stunning. College sports is a business that generates billions of dollars in revenues. To suggest that it is a public good is one of the most bizarre things I think I’ve ever seen someone posit on X, and that is saying something.
  7. “Universities claim they have to follow the money out of self-preservation but their decisions are creating a financial monopoly” *proceeds to follow the money to buy all the best recruits, thereby creating at Tech something approaching a financial monopoly*
  8. “College athletics are a public trust” “college sports has never been a private fiefdom” *proceeds to pump millions of private dollars into his own little fiefdom*
  9. “A flagrant power grab by the most powerful names and entities in college sports” does this dude have any self-awareness whatsoever, or is he really just that brazenly cynical?
  10. Couldn’t agree more. I think Kanu is gonna be a monster this year.
  11. For those who care, they have Arch as the #3 returning qb, Cam the #5 returning WR, Goosby #3 at OT. No Texas players at the top 10 of their position at RB, TE, OG, C, or DT.
  12. I’m sorry to hear that, brother. Marriage is hard. I don’t have any advice, but just wanted to offer my solidarity and good wishes. I hope you make it through this.
  13. Oh man, I forgot that D Will was in that class. I remember following the box scores in the DMN for all of those guys. It was a fun year to follow Texas HS basketball.
  14. Since you mentioned Bosh, I’ve been remembering that 2001-02 Dallas Lincoln basketball team that went 40-0 and won the state championship. I went to watch the 4A championship game between Lincoln and Beaumont Ozen—Chris Bosh vs. Kendrick Perkins. That 2002 Texas high school basketball class had a lot of star power—Bosh, Perkins, Bracey Wright, Daniel Horton.
  15. First he loves Flood, then he hates him, then he loves him. First he hates basketball, then he loves it.
  16. Now that Jonah Williams will be out until at least the start of the season, they will need to manufacture talented safety depth. That will mean getting creative. Hopefully they are open to something like Black taking snaps at safety.
  17. How dare you. This is a Vonlane outfit here.
  18. Might want to switch allegiances to @Joe Zura’s Ducks or @CJ Vogel’s Sooners.
  19. Hard to argue with this list, but I’m kinda souring on DeBoer a bit. He had much more shine pre-bama. But his offenses have not come close to what I expected and there’s a bit of softness in that bama program. Honestly a bit surprising. But I’m not sure how long he lasts there. I don’t see him ever winning it all at bama, and those fans are going to get restless soon.
