  1. If we score 42 on THAT defense, then we’ve earned a shot at the title.
  2. Totally agree with this. I trust the defense and normally would defer, but you can’t let them get up 7-0. I think that’s a recipe for disaster. Let Sark put together a badass script and get up on them early. We also have completely squandered every opportunity to start with the ball in the second half, so I’m not sure it’s that big of an advantage.
  3. 24-21 OSU, hope I’m wrong!
  4. I do like what I’ve seen from Gibson this year. I think he can be something special.
  5. I must have missed that Texas was no longer bringing them to campus. Do you think that means Sark has a plan at WR he likes better than Branch? Or that they didn’t want to play his NIL game?
  6. Bama is losing a huge amount of young talent to the portal this year. DeBoer needs to stop the bleeding.
  7. I don’t think that’s entirely fair. His stats last year were very Bill Norton-ish. And he’s definitely more of a clog the gaps / occupy space / demand double teams kind of player. They often don’t put up monster numbers but are so critical in PK’s system.
  8. His stats are almost identical to Norton’s from his junior year at Arizona. Seems like Brevard/Shaw would be ideal replacements for Lole and Norton. We still have to replace the explosiveness and production of Collins and Broughton, though. Hopefully Justus Terry can provide some of that.
  9. Does Texas pursuing another DE suggest that they don’t think Burke can totally replace what Sorrell does? Or does it just mean that they are concerned about experienced DE depth in general?
  10. TexAgs is already in spin mode. “He wasn’t even good” “He would’ve been the 4th best WR next year” “All our portal additions are way better” “He only led the team in TDs because of good throws from the qb” “He probably isn’t an NFL receiver” “He got greedy and was chasing NIL” They really are masters of their craft (spin, delusion, denial), I will give them that.
  11. I agree, but I kinda assumed that since he’s gone nuclear the last 6 weeks that it was likely a foregone conclusion that he’d be going pro. Plus, we still need a speed receiver. If Bond were smart, he’d come back for one more year.
  12. Dumb question, but is there any chance whatsoever that Bond returns? He could go kill it at the combine and reinvigorate his draft stock, but coming back another year could push him back to the 1st round. Or is he just dead set on going pro?
  13. In the expanded playoff era, making the semifinals becomes the minimum bar for a successful season. It’s the equivalent IMO of making a sweet sixteen (or maybe elite eight?) in CBB. It’s not the ultimate goal, but I think coaches and programs will begin to be measured by whether or not they make the final four. So, yes, this season is an unmitigated success.
  14. He had an amazing game against us, but the rest of his career seemed just kinda meh.
  15. Yeah I’d take him in a heartbeat.
  16. Bama has more turnovers than yards midway through the 2nd 😂
  17. In retrospect, DeBoer lucked into an extremely veteran Washington team with arguably the best QB in the country and three NFL receivers. Hard to judge whether he’s a good program builder or just started on 3rd base. Kind of a Lincoln Riley situation.
  18. Michigan has recruited really well and is also doing well in the portal. Rumors of their demise were greatly exaggerated. It would be hilarious if they beat OSU again next year.
  19. Fair enough. But Saban would never let his team lose like THAT to OU, and he would never let an average UM team do this to him. Also, UM is gonna go into Norman next season and wreck shop.
  20. Michigan up 13-0 on Bama. Bama being smashed by OU and UM, two teams that Texas utterly dismantled. Either UT’s wins aren’t as unimpressive as the national narrative suggests, or Bama has fallen off much more than I expected under DeBoer.
  21. Do you think Sark was TOO patient in the winter portal? I know he’s waiting for difference makers, but they still need 3-4 DTs! It’s risky to hope you can find that many in the spring (unless more players on playoff teams enter in the next few weeks).
  22. According to Matt Zenitz, it seemed like it had become a two-team race between UGA and ASU. In the last few days, the Branch brothers have become more open to visiting other schools and that three teams with some smoke behind the scenes are UNC, Texas, and Tennessee. I’m guessing that means they didn’t get the kind of NIL offer they had been hoping for from UGA/ASU?
  23. He’s listed at 6’1” and 245lbs. Presumably an edge. Doubt we pursue.
  24. That might be the difference between J Terry being ready to start in Columbus week 1 and not. Based on how the winter portal shook out, Texas may well need him to start. So this is just absolutely massive.
