    A pair of Longhorns have been named as Finalists for two college football postseason awards, annually presented to the nation's best at each position. DB Jahdae Barron was named as a Thorpe Award Finalist Tuesday afternoon. Barron has four interceptions and has not allowed a touchdown on the season. And LT Kelvin Banks has been named a finalist for the 2024 Outland Award trophy, presented annually to the nation's top interior lineman. Texas DL T'Vondre Sweat won the award in 2023. The other finalists for the Outland include Michigan DL Mason Graham and Ole Miss DL Walter Nolen.

    Scott Starzyk likely to end up at Michigan, he told me a week ago it was unlikely he would end up at Texas this cycle despite some conversations. If Texas adds a kicker, I would be it is out of the portal.

    Texas LB Anthony Hill Jr. has been named the Co-Defensive Player of the Week by the SEC for his efforts Saturday vs. Kentucky. Hill recorded 10 tackles with three tackles for loss and two sacks. *** However, Hill was not named a Finalist for the Butkus Award, given to the nation's top linebacker in the country. It was a straight up snub.

    Sarkisian: "I didn't say in my opening press conference we came here to win 10 games." Sarkisian says it is cool to have back to back ten win seasons, but the goal is to win more than just ten games a year.
