  1. A few noteworthy tidbits I wanted to share from conversations I had over the past couple of hours regarding Texas' Junior Day festivities. – First, new co-defensive coordinator and LB coach Johnny Nansen made a really strong initial impact with a number of prospects. Texas hosted an impressive crop of linebackers on the visit, but his impact trickled down to prospects all over the defense. 2026 Bastrop DL Tiki Hola mentioned he was immediately able to connect with Nansen as the result of their Polynesian ties. We have talked about the impact Nansen will have in the Poly community and it is already started to have an affect. Nansen's impact made a strong impression yesterday. – 2025 five-star LB Jonah Williams was someone we were expecting to make it to campus this week. He did not make the trip unfortunately. – 2025 Pleasant Grove EDGE Lance Jackson is being recruited at BUCK by the Texas staff. The Longhorns made a really strong pitch to the 6-foot-5 pass rusher on Saturday. Jackson told me he had been to Austin for a camp and a game previously, but this visit really allowed him to take in the facilities in a slower environment. Jackson also said Pete Kwiatkoski was with him for almost his entire trip while on campus, should give you a nice idea of how much the Longhorns covet his ability. No other visits are planned at the moment as Jackson will turn focus to getting ready for his upcoming season on the mound. – 2027 University High DB Davonrtae Kirkland is going to be a name to know. He has the tools to be a top five player in the state of his class and the Longhorns have him firmly on their radar. An offer was not extended on the trip, however, Kirkland said the Texas staff wants him to return for a visit in the near future. This kid is a stud. – 2025 Cibolo Steele WR Royal Capell is one that I had on offer watch, however he left without an offer in hand. Capell told me Texas was impressed with his versatility. He was compared to Deebo Samuel when I was at Steele last week. – View full news
  2. I am a huge fan of Henry Harris. Saw him in person last year during his freshman season at San Marcos, really impressive talent.
  3. Hooray! Hooray!
  4. At the least, yes. Possible top 3 RB in his class in my eyes.
  5. Cash those tickets! 2026 Aledo RB Raycine Guillory Jr. has committed to Texas following his time on campus for the Junior Day Saturday afternoon. Guillory was a key piece of the Aledo offense in 2023 that ended up winning the state title. The sophomore running back rushed for 1200+ yards on an 8.5 yards per carry clip and found the end zone 17 times. Another feather in the cap of RB Coach Tashard Choice who lands a tremendous prospect from a very impressive program out of DFW. Guillory was clocked at 10.8 in the 100m as a sophomore and has a reported 4.43 laser time in the 40-yard dash as well. Guillory becomes the first commitment in the 2026 class for the Texas Longhorns.

  7. Texas wrapped up their Junior Day festivities a couple of hours ago, but there might be a few more fireworks left in the chamber. I am told everyone who wagered on over 0.5 commitments to come out of this weekend will be walking to the ticket window here soon to cash that ticket.

  9. Boobie Feaster is going to be a STUD
  10. That was something we talked about on C&F, right now the Texas staff could probably add as many commitments as it pushed for. But that’s the crossroads we’re at, how many does the staff want to add this early? Certainly remains a possibility that another name is added to the class.
  11. This is hilarious, well done lol
  12. I really appreciate it, Rhenk! Let's have a great time here!
  13. Maybe 1, I wasn't expecting any coming into today. History shows that Sarkisian likes to build his classes around the summer time and finish them up near the beginning of December. Just not really his forte if I had to guess.
  14. Committable offers begin to separate themselves during the official visit season. It is really important to continue those relationships until it is time to push for the commitment from the staff's side. With it being so early, Texas is firmly still in the eval position for a lot of these 2025 prospects.
  15. The 5th offer of the afternoon has been extended to 2025 Lake Travis DE Gus Cordova. Texas did not have to go far for this evaluation with the Lake Travis end coming down to campus for the Junior Day. If you want to talk about toughness, Cordova showed up to campus today in a t-shirt with the sub-30 degree temperatures pestering just about everyone else in attendance. Texas joins the mix for Cordova, who now holds 18 offers – including Oklahoma, Texas A&M, TCU and SMU.

  17. UPDATE 1pm: The first new offer of the day has gone out to Ryan Fodje, a 6-foot-5, 275-pound offensive lineman from Bridgeland HS in the Houston area. ** The morning was quite chilly here in Austin. Recruits and their parents parked well off campus and were shuttled to DKR and the coaches offices. On to the visitor notes: Shadow Creek is well-represented on campus with prospects like Texas LB commit Anthony Williams, 2025 CB Cobey Sellers, and the expected arrival of 2025 WR Jacorey Watson. On the linebacker front, Texas is pursuing two really important DFW area targets. The first is Dallas Skyline LB Elijah Bo Barnes who arrived in the first group of prospects. Barnes said Texas LB coach Johnny Nansen stopped by this week to watch him workout. Barnes will visit Texas A&M next week. The other big LB prospect is 2025 McKinney LB Riley Pettijohn who was able to get to campus early this morning as well. Pettijohn certainly looks the part. Bridgeland HS in the Houston area boasts two impressive offensive tackles, 2025 OT Ryan Fodje and 2025 OT Jonte Newman, both showing substantial interest in Texas. Fodje is a prime candidate to leave campus with an offer this afternoon. Cy Fair DL Landon Rink arrived this morning, there was excitement about hearing from former teammate Trey Owens and getting insights into campus life. Rink told me Texas A&M coach Mike Elko stopped by Cy Fair this week to see him in person, added that it meant a lot to be on of the first prospects Elko went to see in person since taking over the head job. An unexpected 2025 LB visitor from IMG Academy, Gavin Nix, has caught attention with Texas making quietly impressive strides. Nix spoke with our Blake Munroe prior to his campus trip about what he hoped to see on campus. 2025 DeSoto OL Byron Washington returned to campus. The #BigHuman has been a common name in Texas circles, he and Coach Flood have a strong relationship and he was eager to the next chapter of his Texas recruitment. Also, 2027 DeSoto WR Boobie Feaster, aiming for a 10.5 100m time this spring, also made an appearance. Jasper TE Kiotti Armstrong from the class of 2025 successfully made it to campus. 2025 Louisiana DB Jaboree Antoine is in attendance for the Texas-Baylor basketball game with his family. The Texas coaching staff will be in attendance with them there. 2026 Mater Dei LB Shaun Scott also made it to campus after a delayed flight last night. Scott holds 14 offers thus far. ** There are 250 seats designated specifically for Texas recruits and their families at the Texas-Baylor basketball game at the Moody Center this morning. The recruiting team escorted the prospects from Moncrief to Moody right after their arrivals. ** Texas portal WR Isaiah Bond is meeting and greeting with prospects inside the facility. He arrived to Moncrief around 10 a.m. and has been mingling with recruits and their families all morning. Pretty cool deal for the new Longhorn. ** We'll have more substantial updates after the Texas prospects wrap up their time on campus.

  21. A quick welcome to all who are venturing over for the beginning of the On Texas Football online era! I am very excited for the future of the OTF board and what we will bring to the table in terms of content and coverage of the Texas Longhorns. Bobby did a great job of laying out the board rules and expectations. Saturday should be very exciting with over 100 top prospects on campus. Coverage will begin early in the morning as Blake and I will be on campus to bring you live updates as the day progresses. As far as what you can expect from me on OTF: Truthfulness and objectivity when covering Texas football and recruiting. This is not a bakery, you will not be seeing sugar-coating here. Timely updates. My screen time is the biggest reason why I don't have a girlfriend or wife at the moment. I am not here to argue. (Or so I say, depends on how much available time I have..) Finally, let's have a day! Basically what I tell myself every day. You never know when you might have the best day of your life and that attitude will carry over to the board. As I mentioned, I am very excited for the future here and the trajectory in which OTF is headed. Welcome to the community, really looking forward to establishing some new relationships on the board as well as continuing to chat with old friends. Hook'Em!
  22. By last count, the Texas visitors list for the Junior Day on Saturday has reached north of 100 total prospects with the unofficial count by our records now sitting at 107 prospects. Below is the updated count for the visit festivities. 24. Hook'Em! Alabama portal tight end Amari Niblack has made it official, he will be joining the Texas Longhorns for the 2024 season. Niblack arrived for a visit in Austin early Thursday afternoon and it did not take long for the 6-foot-4, 240-pounder to join the boat and commit to Steve Sarkisian's Texas program. During the 2023 season, Niblack caught 20 passes for 327 yards and four touchdowns, including a 39-yarder against the Longhorns. Sark continues the trend of adding explosive speed via the portal this offseason with Niblack as the most recent example. Replacing Ja'Tavion Sanders will be no easy task, but the Longhorns will now be working with two veteran pieces in Niblack and Gunnar Helm in 2024. View full news
