  1. Borba had a really solid scrimmage by the way.
  2. Yeah, that's the obvious takeaway when you hear the bats had a good day. However, per Schloss, this is the first time he has allowed his staff to go more than 2 IP during the offseason. The build up will help the Longhorn pitching staff over the next three weeks, but really the first extended look for a lot of these guys.
  3. Aggressiveness on Base Paths This caught my attention, really from both angles, during the scrimmage. Texas stole three bases, one of which on a ball in the dirt, but there was also several back-pick attempts and Luke Harrison ended up picking off a runner to end an inning as well. INF/OF Jayden Duplantier stole 3rd base off of Jared Spencer. Duplantier was the lead runner of a double steal, though was the only one to follow through with the steal. 3B Casey Borba stole 2nd base off of Jared Spencer. C Cole Chamberlain stole 3rd base off of Jason Flores. The Texas defense also attempted several back picks. Some from the pitcher, some from the catcher spot. Really aggressive all over and Schloss actually spoke about that during his time with the media as well.
  4. Pop in the Lineup This was a big case from the last few years for Texas Baseball, and at times it became a detriment when facing super elite arms. But there is plenty of power in the lineup for Texas. Just through the four innings I watched, I would have to assume the team OPS was north of 1.500, it was that ridiculous. Some highlights from the plate: C Rylan Galvan – HR to LCF ... 423 feet CF Will Gasparino – HR to LCF ... 426 feet, 105 EV INF/OF Jayden Duplantier – HR to LCF ... 100 mph EV, 396 feet 3B Adrian Rodriguez's at bats above. ^^ LF Easton Winfield – RBI 3B off base of the LCF wall. 353 feet. 1B Jaquae Stewart – 103 mph EV liner up the middle ... ball actually hit Luke Harrison who recovered for the out. There were two additional at bats with EV's over 103 mph that ended up as line outs. Actually chased down rather well by Texas outfielders. The make up of this lineup is going to be really fun with Flores, Beyleu Gasparino, Rodriguez, Schluessler, etc. Plenty of pop throughout.
  5. I will add some notes of my own after watching the first four innings of the scrimmage from this afternoon: Adrian Rodriguez I don't think it can be emphasized enough how impressed I was after watching this kid in action. 1st AB – right-handed double off the base of the right centerfield wall. 99 mph EV. 2nd AB – left-handed grand slam. 103 mph EV and 366 feet down right field line. He is your guy at third base.
  6. RB Jaydon Blue is expected to participate in the East-West Shrine Bowl this weekend in Dallas as well.
  7. Five Longhorns and Draft hopefuls have accepted their invitiation to the Reese's Senior Bowl this year. Those Longhorns include: TE Gunnar Helm EDGE Barryn Sorrell DL Vernon Broughton DL Alfred Collins DB Andrew Mukuba I will be making the trip to Mobile, Alabama for two days of practice next week and will updates accordingly from those Longhorns in attendance, as well as tidbits from scouts and event coaches. Another year of solid representation for Texas in the Senior Bowl. I believe it will be aired on NFL Network and NFL+ next week for those interested.
  8. Another 2026 EDGE prospect offered. Aidan Harris out of Weddington, North Carolina has received an offer from Jeff Banks. Harris received an in-home visit from USC last night.
  9. You certainly aren't wrong about that!
  10. Very excited to work alongside you, Jeff! On Texas Football got better today!
  11. Contract season loading for No. 5.

  13. Texas has been busy on the trail recently with defensive back offers and Wednesday afternoon they add another. 2026 North Crowley DB Aaron Bradshaw has received an offer after a visit from Steve Sarkisian and the Texas staff this morning. Bradshaw was an important piece for North Crowley's defense en route to a state championship this season whilst defeating Duncanville, Allen, Westlake and Coppell. Texas becomes the 11th school to offer the 6-foot-3-inch, 185-pound safety originally from Fort Worth. Offers Include: Arizona State Grambling State Memphis Pitt Michigan State Texas Tech Tulsa UTEP UTSA West Virginia
  14. Last night's win was really important for the Longhorns. Pretty ugly game all around, but hey, it counts the same as a flawless 40-point win. Gotta stack those.
  15. I laid it out a bit earlier on Twitter, but the path to eight/nine conference wins is certainly attainable for MBB this year. That would get Texas into the tournament in my opinion. 1/25 vs A&M 2/1 at LSU 2/5 vs Arkansas 2/8 at Vandy 2/22 at SCAR 3/1 vs Georgia 3/8 vs. Oklahoma These were the games I had circled as winnable for Texas. Starting this weekend against TAMU, that's a tough game, but one that Texas needs to have for its resume.
  16. Really talented player. OU has a chance. But a return to the metroplex isn't out of the picture. Texas interest would surprise me considering their depth at CB.

  18. The Texas coaching staff is on the road in DFW this afternoon and have extended a new offer to a 2027 defensive lineman. 2027 Cedar Hill Jalen Brewster has reported an offer from The University of Texas. Brewster is listed at 6-foot-4-inches and 300 pounds and now has collected offers from both Texas and Texas A&M in the last 72 hours. Oklahoma is going to be a team to watch here early on, but the Longhorns continue to make in-state defensive line recruiting a priority. Offer List: Arizona State Baylor North Texas Oklahoma Penn State Texas Texas A&M Texas Tech UTSA
  19. A&M stop at the goal line is up there for me. But hard to top 4th & 13. That's the one.
  20. I’m just imagining Niblack having to block Colin Simmons off the edge.
  21. I think Texas is more than okay with this.
  22. Can’t wait for this season, I’m very excited for the Schloss era.
