The difference in blitz performance between Chambliss and Arch is wild. Also, may God help us containing echols

On a scale of 1-10, how surprised are the mods at the state of the offense 6 games into this season given the offseason hype? In particular, what are you most surprised about specifically?

It’s truly a dumbfounding situation that is shocking to admit is 100% true. It feels like overnight we’ve gone from back to back national semis to it being existential moment for Sark on his side of the ball. and unlike other dark offensive years — this is not a talent problem. which makes it more wild.

ah the usual Texas experience this year 😆

Agree it takes marbles but also not sure what the point is in asking it fresh post game. Not going to get anything.

It makes sense, in terms of how we beat Ohio State -- we're ranked number one up to this week, I suppose. But We definitely are not the number one team in the country. Though that defense sure is spicy

Wonder what UF would be if you took out 2006-2008 😆

It all depends on how severe the bone bruise is. For a big guy it is probably harder. The main thing will be pain management

I'd love to be positive, but these things generally and the way you think they will. It's a bummer he had such a great ball game and seemed like such a well-liked player from afar. That being said something like this happened once a quarter with J'covan Brown and we never kicked him off the basketball team so maybe there's hope 😂

Ya let’s be honest OTF does the same. And it’s fine! It’s part of the game.

I disagree. I watched lot of his film rooms with Texas and it was a constant theme how bad the line was.

@Jeff Howe definitely different than sorsby obviously— but didn’t sark publicly criticize when Pavia did a similar thing?

    this may be the best

It’s also wild the range of narratives about him between recruiting sites 😆

he seems like a great kid and family. their vlog series has been really cool to watch. fingers crossed we have a good flipmas!

how would you compare him to Fasusi, Turntine? and how do OTF rankings compare him and Swanson? Just trying to get an idea of relative talent to last few cycles

Man, they had to really go over the top for that one, I would think. From everything I've heard from OTF, Schumaker and Tyler Alexander are not similar players. Shumaker is a top 50, top 100 talent from my understanding. My guess is they would have preferred him over Alexander - does this mean Colorado just went WAY over the top? I assume Texas had Shumaker >>> Alexander

Clearly Kirby was in the dugout

Very well written Jeff. The whole thing is tiresome man. However I have to say that if you're in Tech position, you've played your cards pretty perfectly on this one. Clearly the goal was to paint Texas as a villain. The goal was to do all the things that you said. The more I think about it, I can't blame them for responding the way they are. In some ways it's working out in their favor perfectly — media buzz. I kind of felt the same way about the criticisms thrown at tech, at their desperation to be relevant. Of course..what college football program doesn't want to be relevant? What program doesn't want to take advantage of all possible avenues to try to be more relevant, especially if they’re not a blue blood?

OL such a tough position to make decisions on these days with the dead money risk. I don’t envy the staff.

seeing Matas in person — gave me fresh respect. it’s hard to put a finger on but he’s a such a handful in the trenches and has this odd skill about him. his limitations are what they are but id always take a guy like that. he would be just what the doctor ordered of someone he could have actually played for Barnes toughness wise.
