  1. Among the freshmen, a lot of talk today about Brett Crossland on the mound and Anthony Pack in the outfield/at the plate.
  2. I’m disappointed that we’re three pages deep without a single Penny Hardaway or Nick Anderson reference.
  3. It’s not that far removed, when you think about it. The bowl game was on New Year’s Eve and with the holiday, it probably wasn’t possible for everyone to have their surgery right away.
  4. If guys need something cleaned up, the sooner they get it done after the season, the better.
  5. Texas quarterback Arch Manning, "underwent minor foot surgery this week as a preventative measure to address a previous injury," the Longhorns announced on Friday. Manning is one of six Texas players who underwent postseason surgery, and while "he will be limited during offseason workouts," school officials said that Manning "is expected back during spring football." The following Longhorns underwent postseason surgery for various ailments and "are expected back 100 percent healthy by the season," the school said: safety Xavier Filsaime (shoulder), offensive tackle Trevor Goosby (shoulder), wide receiver Emmett Mosley V (ankle), linebacker Ty’Anthony Smith (shoulder) and wide receiver Ryan Wingo (wrist).

  7. That was about as evenly played a first half as you'll see. Texas was 1-for-9 on 3-pointers in the first half, but the Longhorns compensated elsewhere with 26 points in the paint (a 26-18 edge).
  8. Tramon Mark had six points in the first half, all of them inside the final six minutes.
  9. HALFTIME: Texas 40, Kentucky 40
  10. It's a tie game, 38-38, with 39.7 seconds left in the half.
  11. I don't like either of the last two fouls committed by Texas. Swain swiped at Moreno and Mark threw his body into a Chandler.
  12. Seven offensive rebounds for Kentucky. Way too many second-chance opportunities.
  13. Texas had a nice 7-0 run going. A nice drive by Swain gets Texas back in front, 34-33.
  14. Texas 23, Kentucky 23 7:59 to go, 1H
  15. Kentucky with six points off of three Texas turnovers.
  16. Texas is 7-for-7 at the foul line.
  17. Texas is in the bonus at the 9:13 mark of the first half.
  18. Dioubate is called for an over-the-back foul. That's Kentucky's sixth team foul.
