Hamilton gets Tatom to ground out to second to end the inning. We're through seven with the Longhorns up by 13 runs.

One of those runs was charged to Volantis, who now has a 1.94 ERA on the season.

After 6.1 innings and 91 pitches, Volantis exits with a runner on first and one out. Hudson Hamilton is the first man out of the bullpen tonight for the Longhorns.

Tarleton will have seen Volantis and UCSB has a season's worth of information on him, so the scouting component isn't a big deal. Personally, I think this is more about Schloss and Weiner hedging against Ruger's shoulder not being up to snuff tomorrow and needing to use more bullpen arms if Riojas can't go deep.
