  1. Chris Cornell did the best version of that song. Nothing compares to it.
  2. Join us at 8 AM and let’s talk the spring game, recruiting, the portal and much more. We will be taking your questions to, so get those in!
  3. Some good notes here for Texas, OU and A&M in case you didn’t get to see all the spring games on Saturday. I’ll post the Texas part here but the rest is in the link. https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/college-football-spring-game-standouts-takeaways-usc-offense-sputters-notre-dame-qb-cj-carr-impresses/ Arch Manning dazzles Manning had barely thrown a pass in a Texasuniform coming into the spring game after working as the third-string quarterback in 2023. It only took one pass attempt to get the crowd on its feet. Manning stepped up in the pocket and found receiver DeAndre Moore for a 75-yard touchdown, throwing the ball 50 yards through the air. The nephew of Peyton and Eli looked every bit the part of a No. 1 overall recruit, completing 19-of-25 passes for 355 yards and three touchdowns. Coach Steve Sarkisian has repeatedly insisted that the quarterback battle is not open, but Texas fans should feel excited about the future at the position with Quinn Ewers, Manning and impressive freshman Trey Owens running the show.
  4. If it’s a sure fire “dude” then I have no problem with it. There’s not a ton of those just waiting to be picked up this early. And if you go all in that early and manage to hold that class together… better hope it pans out. Man recruiting sure has changed. I remember breaking Lorenzo Joe’s commitment to Texas and it was such a huge deal. Not because he was an elite prospect, but because he offered before his junior season started. It was a really, really big deal.
  5. I know Miami took a quick look here but passed. At least he found him a home… beautiful scenery too.
  6. One thing is for sure… wouldn’t hurt with the Duncanville kids!
  7. Man getting Toia would be huge. Hell getting errrbody in the portal, DT wise, would be huge. good stuff, Gerry.
  8. He needed a confidence booster. No doubt about it.
  9. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10117905-deion-sanders-colorado-land-former-texas-ol-payton-kirkland-in-cfb-transfer-portal
  10. Curious to see if they get off to a rocky start… just how much patience there is in Norman. Especially after the bowl loss. Their schedule isn’t as favorable as Texas’ is.
  11. I’m anxious to see how this all works out. Can’t go wrong with either. Going to be a fun one to keep an eye on imo.
  12. I said Friday on Coffee and Football that Texas should take the series. TCU is terrible on the road.
  13. Spoke with someone close to the situation and he’s good!
  14. 5 EST. 😬
  15. Game starts at 5 today btw.
  16. The spring game is tomorrow (weather permitting), so let’s talk about it! Join us at 8 AM for a Coffee & Football on the On Texas Football YouTube channel. Bobby Burton, Gerry Hamilton and I will be taking your questions and talking all about your favorite team.
  17. Jack’s Major League family tree contains not only his father but also Al’s brother Mark, and Mark's son, Mark Jr., who is in his fifth season in the big leagues. So, when Jack deals his first pitch at Comerica Park, he will make Al and Mark the first MLB brothers to each have a son who made it to The Show. https://www.mlb.com/news/jack-leiter-makes-family-history-with-mlb-debut
  18. Jack Leiter will have his MLB debut on the mound today. Game starts at noon. Rooting for this guy. Been hoping he pulls it all together. Seriously, hands down, the nicest guy in baseball.
  19. We’ll be talking spring ball, recruiting, the transfer portal and much more. Of course we’ll be taking your questions too. Coffee and Football. 8 AM. Don’t miss it.
