    China Springs 2025 catcher/first baseman Dean Hannah announced he has decommitted from Texas. This coaching staff wasn’t surprised by this at all and I would describe it as a mutual parting of ways. Hannah has an 8.5 Perfect Game grade.

    I think that account just tweets what they get from media members and message boards. Nothing wrong with that, but I don’t think they have insider knowledge. I could be wrong. 🤷‍♂️

    Former high school coaches such as Texas Tech's Joey McGuire and UTSA's Jeff Traylor believe a June Signing Day benefits both recruits and college programs. College lifers such as Texas's Steve Sarkisian, Texas A&M's Mike Elko and North Texas's Eric Morris, however, are opposed. “I think last year, the high school player was not protected, where the signing date was in the middle of December and the portal opened and some schools were dropping high school kids because they were taking the portal kid,” Sarkisian said. “I think now, we’re still protecting the high school kid in early December and then we can get ourselves into the portal.” Read the full story here: https://www.texasfootball.com/article/2024/07/30/fbs-coaches-in-texas-are-divided-on-potential-june-signing-day

    The Longhorns have added New Mexico State to their 2027 football schedule. Texas will play the NMSU Aggies on September 4th, 2027 and it will be the season opener for both schools. Through a public records request, FBSSchedules.com was able to confirm the game and also confirmed that Texas will pay New Mexico State 1.6 million for the matchup. The Longhorns last played NMSU in 2013, where they won 56-7. Texas will also host both Michigan and UTEP in the following weeks.

    Regarding Colorado: it’s some family homecoming weekend thing. That’s why they’re high. Ohio state/Mich: someone said they aren’t on sale yet? I’m not for sure on that one.
