  1. I disagree with Texas being as high as they are, unless they're just basing that off of potential. Florida, Arkansas, and Auburn should be in the top five because they have won national championships or made multiple Final Four appearances as members of the SEC. However, the NIL era has shown us that your past history in a sport doesn't matter if you are willing to adapt. No one besides Cignetti and his staff could've saw Indiana becoming a juggernaut in football as IU had never had a 10+ win season until they arrived in 2024. Texas could become a top 3 SEC program in men's hoops if they wanted to. That's the key. Are they willing to do it or are they content with being good to great at the other 20 sports on campus and halfarseing the second biggest money maker in their athletic department? This portal window after the men's hoops season is over will tell us everything fans need to know, as will CDC town hall meeting tonight.
  2. While Luicci is the wrong person to be talking about this due to his team underperforming historically more than Texas, he’s not totally wrong. 1 natty in 55 years at Texas is wild. Texas is long overdue for another natty in football. Has Texas been unlucky over some of those 55 years? Yes. But bad luck aside, 55 years is plenty of opportunities to have had more championship success. Sark is beating his three historic rivals like a drum, so I’ll give him that, but he needs keep doing that, not drop games to teams he should beat handedly, and prove he can outcoach other elite HCs in college football (Day, Smart, etc.).
  3. I think Crump will get them over the hump with South Carolina, but if they get past South Carolina, they still have to take down the GOAT Geno Auriemma. I thought they wouldn't win another natty in the NIL era, but UConn has shown they can adapt to the new era of WCBB. But Vic looks like he will get a shot at winning it all in the next few years and I like his chances to break through.
  4. Yep have to get that Ohio State game. Imo, even if they beat Ohio State, Tennessee is a must win with the SEC going to 9 conference games. Need more margin for error. Don't leave it completely in the hands of the committee. Have to get off to a better start early in the season. 11-1 and you're in 100%. 10-2 and you're almost certainly in even if you get to the SEC Championship game and lose (see Alabama last season). 9-3 and you're eliminated once again.
  5. Need a billionaire basketball minded booster for that to happen.
  6. Just looked up Swain’s stats and he’s shooting almost 58% from the field this season. That’s insane for a perimeter player.
  7. Can Cooper Flagg return to college and be a Longhorn?
  8. Drop the bag, CDC. I wanna see Texas basketball look like the 2023 team again. Don't halfarse it.
  9. There it is from Crump! More of that please!
  10. Still cold from the outside. If they weren’t they’d be up 20+ rn
  11. Shaq could only dream of being an elite shooter like that lol
  12. Can't get too wound up over a recruit that won't sign anywhere until December 2027. A little under two years away. Who knows who the head coaches or assistant coaches will be by then as well?
  13. The March Madness YouTube channel posted this a few days ago. Foreshadowing perhaps?
  14. Texas' WBB NIL is strong as well
  15. Good for depth. I assume Coleman, Wingo, and Mosely will be their primary three guys with some Lockett and Bishop sprinkled in there. Wonder what this means for Daylan McCutcheon's playing time if they get Berkhalter though.
  16. The question about their 3-point shooting slump really struck a nerve with Vic because deep down inside, he knows they're right and that's what it's gonna take to beat South Carolina, LSU, UConn, etc. in the tourney and win it all imo. With Aaliyah Crump back healthy, their outside shooting is the only question mark I have about this team. They are national championship level at everything else. The outside shooting won't hurt them in the regular season but could cap their ceiling to Final Four if it doesn't get addressed. Right now, it seems like UConn is destined for an undefeated national championship season. They are the best 3-point shooting team in WCBB and it's gonna take a herculean effort to knock them out of the tourney. Their conference schedule is a cake walk. Texas at full strength has the best chance to do that imo.
  17. Given the fact that Georgia has been in the SEC Championship every season of the Kirby Smart era besides 2016 and 2020, and has played in every SEC Championship game since 2021 and won that game three out of the last four seasons, I think it’s safe to say Sark is expecting Georgia to be their opponent in Atlanta should Texas make it there. To be the man in this league, you have to beat the man, so any advantage (within the rules) you can get, you take it. Could also face them in the CFP.
  18. The mighty Tarleton State University Texans!
