  1. Norvell and Riley have had bad seasons too. Then they hit the portal hard and their schools backed them more in NIL and their high school recruiting picked up. Might see that more in the NIL era. HCs even at big name CFB programs sticking around due to big buyouts having that money allocated to NIL for the portal and high school recruiting. He'll get next season to figure it out, but he has to get them to the CFP.
  2. Tbh I don't know if he's had control of the players since he got there.
  3. How do you do this given what happened to Nick Brooks (proven not to be what was reported initially, but still) and the HC you play for? Makes no sense. Hopefully he learns and grows from this.
  4. If they bounce back and make the CFP, I would agree with you, but the difference is they are regressing as a program. Sark has improved the program every year he's been here and we'll see if that trend continues or if he's plateaued. The culture that Saban had built is quickly eroding under DeBoer.
  5. It's not a talent issue. It's not an NIL issue. It's a coaching issue. Last season, Bama should've went 11-1 in the regular season, played Texas in the SEC title game, and been a CFP lock. This season, Bama should go 10-2 in the regular season at worst, but more likely to go 8-4 and miss the SEC title and CFP once again. I know Saban is gone, but this team is good enough to be a perennial playoff contender, even if they're no longer a national championship contender. DeBoer is too "buddy buddy" with his players and coaching staff for this to work. LSU, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Vanderbilt, Auburn, and even Georgia are licking their chops to play this Alabama team. This guy is spot on with the issues happening in Tuscaloosa rn
  6. Gotta at least split the Miami and LSU games, then pull an upset over Texas or Aggy and run the table from there to have a shot. Won't happen because they won't beat Georgia and Mississippi is probably a loss too so 8-4 at best. That's only if Lagway stays healthy.
  7. Basically what happened to Kalen DeBoer. He was offered big money to keep the Ferrari on the road like Ryan Day. Not sure even a big bag could convince Sark to do another full on rebuild of a blueblood program. I think the only college HC job he might leave for is Southern Cal because that's where he grew up. Otherwise it's Texas or NFL.
  8. Mr. Sioux Falls is not an SEC caliber HC.
  9. Plus they played a power level opponent on the road and won comfortably. Much more impressive.
  10. As Dan Lanning once said, they're doing it for clicks!
  11. In order, assuming they lose no more than one game along the way, the biggest threats to Texas winning the conference and winning it all are Georgia and Ohio State. Penn State, like Clemson has a very experienced roster, but have to see how PSU performs against Oregon and Ohio State to determine if they can take that next step. Clemson will still win the ACC unless FSU, Miami, or Louisville rises to the occasion. I do not think Clemson matches up well with Texas. Still don't trust Brian Kelly to get it done, but he could take them to Atlanta and the CFP.
  12. The season rides on the games in the Swamp and in the Cotton Bowl. Have to go 1-1 at worst there. 0-2 there and you’re Citrus Bowl bound. 2-0 and SEC championship, CFP and beyond are still on the table. 1-1 you have no margin for error left.
  13. Despite the lack of burst in the RB room, 200+ rushing ypg and 5+ ypc is very doable, especially when you throw in Manning’s running ability. That might be the best way to maximize this offense this season. The right side of the line needs to match that and they’ll be set.
  14. Needs a real OC that can call plays. I do want to see what adjustments are made from this game to the games in Gainesville and Dallas to validate my thoughts. Flood and Milwee are OC and Co-OC to justify their pay, but they don’t call plays.
  15. Agree with the last sentence.
  16. We won’t really know how much this offense has improved until they go to Gainesville and Dallas back to back, but what I want to see over these next three games are: - Anyone who is injured to get healthy and anyone who is not injured to stay healthy. - More creativity in the red zone. Nuff said. - The short and intermediate passing game to come to life with the QB and WRs. - Getting the other RBs involved in the run game. Building off that performance against Ohio State.
  17. I really had Klubnik winning the Heisman this season lol. No chance that happens if that’s how his OL and run game look the rest of the way. To be fair he has a chance to pad his stats in the ACC, but Beck and Castellanos might have something to say about that.
  18. Yeah let’s see how much Manning’s accuracy improves over the course of this season before directing that much criticism to the WR room. I will say the WR could’ve prevented Manning’s only interception of the game by acting like a defensive back.
  19. No because, I think the staff spends most of their NIL money on defense. That’s why most of the difference makers on this team are on that side of the ball. They don’t spend as much on offense imo
  20. It's why I said these next two seasons with Manning are the two most important of Sark's career and legacy as a HC/offensive playcaller. If he doesn't win a natty in the next two seasons, things will get dicey. I don't want Sark the head football coach fired, nor should he be fired. I do think Sark the playcaller should be fired if the offense does not improve over the course of this season. I respect him for pulling them out of the dumps after his first two seasons and the eleven seasons prior, but I hope “Final Four and no more” is not his ceiling here.
  21. Translation: there will be plenty of opportunities for the defense to create splash plays.
  22. RB ball security was excellent yesterday between Wisner and Baxter.
  23. At least he didn’t turn the ball over!
  24. Sark has put up lots of yards but not enough points. That’s been the story of the last two seasons and game one of this season. He’s baked the cake but keeps forgetting to add the icing to it.
  25. Yes like LaDainian Tomlinson and Priest Holmes back in the day
