  1. Unfortunately, you will not see me. My future Buckeye will be born that weekend so I am selling my season tickets 😞
  2. I just can’t imagine Michigan with a true freshman QB going into OU and beating them. I know OU is only -2.5, so Vegas thinks it’ll be close, but I can’t see them winning.
  3. Henderson & Judkins were elite. Peoples is going to be special as well. I wouldn’t sleep on Peoples.
  4. That’s fair, but Texas also can’t expect to hold Jeremiah Smith to 1 catch for 3 yards either.
  5. By all indications, both of those guys are living up to their potential and both will be starters at some point in their career. Ohio State doesn’t have Texas linebackers, but that room is absolutely stacked. It might be a couple seasons before Pettijon is a starting linebacker.
  6. Just my opinion, but I’m very high on this years Ohio State team. I think if Sayin (or Keinholtz) turns out to be as advertised, I think Ohio State is as good as they were last season. It doesn’t mean they’ll repeat, odds are they won’t. But this team is loaded with talent, and experienced talent as well. So is Texas btw, which is what makes this the greatest week one game in the history of the sport imo
  7. Yes, and it will take a Herculean effort to beat the Longhorns, even in The Shoe
  8. I don’t wanna talk about it lol To this day that was the hardest loss I’ve ever taken as a Buckeye fan
  9. Very interesting! I also love the stat that Ryan Day is 70-6 against non-Michigan teams, a 92% winning percentage.
  10. That’s funny, we have two very confident fan bases. I see it as 31-17 Ohio State. One fan base is going to be in for a hell of a letdown. Hopefully it isn’t us once again in Columbus 😞 Damn you Vince Young!!
  11. How are you guys feeling about your OL? From a distance, I look at Texas replacing 4/5 starters from last year and the backup RT getting lost for the season, and I think there’s no way they get the better of Ohio State’s defense. Are Ohio State fans wrong for feeling this way? It doesn’t seem like UT fans or the national media have the same concerns, so maybe I’m missing something.
  12. What about for Texas fans? Where are you guys the most and least confident at this point in fall camp?
  13. Our concerns going into fall camp were QB, RB, and DL. From everything that’s been reported, the running backs (James Peoples from San Antonio will be RB1 with CJ Donaldson Jr, transfer from WVU, as RB2) have been impressive and the defensive end room is talented and deep. There still isn’t any depth at DT. The starters (Eddrick Houston & Kayden McDonald) are very good, but if one of them get injured, or when they need to take plays off, Texas should have a pretty big advantage on the interior when they have the ball. So I will say our biggest concerns are 1. Neither of the QBs are experienced, will they be ready for Texas’ defense week one? Or will they look completely out of their element. 2. DT depth 3. Matt Patricia being the DC. I would say #1 and #2 and then there’s a pretty big gap between those two and our third biggest concern.
  14. I think a big reason we aren’t as worried as a lot of outsiders think we should be is because Knowles didn’t take any staff with him (except for maybe some analysts that we never heard of). All of the position coaches return. We also have alot of faith in Ryan Day’s ability to make great hires, so we have a lot of faith in Patricia.
  15. Fair enough. Good luck to your Horns on 8/30, and hopefully you are making the trip! For Horns fans who went to Ann Arbor last season and who will be also making the trip to Columbus, I would to hear your comparison between the two campus’, atmospheres, etc
  16. I hope you are correct. It’s been reported that he lost some weight and looks very good physically. Ryan Day said last week that he has been repping some at RT and G, it definitely made Buckeye Nation a little anxious that maybe he hadn’t locked down the LT spot. It appears it’s just the coaches cross training the OL in case they have the injuries like they did last season.
  17. Ohio State fans are very confident that their defense will be elite once again. Ohio State fans believe they have the best secondary in CFB, and one of the top 3 linebacker units.
  18. Welcome to the #2 defense Texas. I can’t wait for this one!
  19. We brought in an OT from WVU (Justin Terry), and OT from Rice (Ethan Onianwa), and an OT from Minnesota (Phillip Daniels). Justin Terry is just a depth piece, won’t be on the two deep, Onianwa will be Ohio State’s starting LT, and Phillip Daniels was brought in to compete at RT, but it looks like he lost the battle already to Austin Siereveld and will be RT2.
  20. Thanks Austalgia, I am happy to be here. As for the competition, most Ohio State beat reporters do not view the competition as a facade, they believe it is a true competition.
  21. Many Ohio State fans and media believe this is the deepest Ohio State’s offensive line has been for over a decade. They believe their OL will be elite from the first snap of the season. Ohio State returns all 3 starters on their IOL. The RT is sure to be an upgrade over last season, as Josh Fryar was the weak link on the OL, Austin Siereveld is replacing him. The only question is LT, but we are confident that Onianwa is as advertised and will fit in perfectly on the left side. I don’t think it can be overstated how beneficial it is for Ohio State to know their starting 5 from the first day of training camp and give them reps together for an entire month before their first game.
  22. Quick update: Coach Day said that he would like to name a starter by the end of next week. That checks out as it is a similar time frame he named Justin Fields, CJ Stroud, and Will Howard as QB1. I believe Ohio State has a scrimmage tomorrow, and then a scrimmage next Saturday. Day has his next press conference I believe the Monday after next Saturday and most believe he’ll announce QB1 at that time. Ohio State fans remain fairly certain it will be Julian Sayin and they would still be shocked if it is LK.
  23. The starting LB’s are Sonny Styles & Arvell Reese. Payton Pierce (also from Texas) would be LB3. I would say odds are Pettijon plays special teams only, if that.
  24. I can’t speak to his reputation in the NFL, but so far recruits and players alike have raved about how much they like him.
  25. Ohio State fans also hope it is Sayin. The kid has the potential to be special. LK is more mobile, but Sayin is the superior thrower of the football. Ohio State fans would be shocked if LK takes the first snap under center on 8/30
