    Should be interesting. Although Texas should take at least 1 portal WR per cycle if they can, I want to see them develop their HS WR recruits more. Not to diminish the contributions of Bolden, Bond, and Golden. They were a big reason for Texas' success this past season. Adonai Mitchell was a big reason for Texas' success two seasons ago. Hopefully, that will be the case this upcoming season onward.

    The hiring of NFL coaches has been a good strategy by Sark so far. I don't expect anything different from the next hire. Only risk with that approach is if the coach has no prior CFB experience. Could take longer to build relationships with players and their families on the recruiting trail. You saw this happen with Kenny Baker after the sudden departure of Bo Davis to LSU. The great thing about hiring NFL guys is they're around the best players in the world, so they can show these kids what NFL caliber play looks like.

    Was this partially influenced by the addition of LaAllan Clark to the defensive staff or do they want to get him more playing time as a true freshman and get a good return on their NIL investment? I know Clark and Kenny Baker specialize in teaching pass rush.

    This a bad look for LSU's recruiting in state. Texas should use the negative press as an advantage in recruiting the best HS prospects from the boot. Kelly's a decent HC, but a terrible human being.

    Not necessarily, but 2026 is natty or bust. The 2026 team will be the most talented roster Sark ever has at Texas. If they get to Jan '27 with no natties, I don't think it will happen in the Sark era.

    Doubt it. Besides the COVID season, he's won at least 10 games a year multiple seasons in a row. Chizik and O never did that. I do hope the Saints come calling and he takes that job so Texas can take some of their players.

    Haven’t heard much regarding CB targets for Texas, but I’m sure more offers will go out soon.

    2020 off the top of my head. For non-COVID seasons, 2019. Amazing how durable he was with his style of play + Hand coached OL. Hopefully, Arch can provide some much needed durability at the QB spot like pre-neck injury Peyton and Eli did.

    With all due respect to Ewers, when you have a QB that can consistently hit the deep ball, speed doesn't matter as much. Would you like to find a speedster in the portal this spring? Of course. But at some point, gotta develop the WRs you pick out of HS. I'm not as worried as long as they get that 1 guy in the portal in a few months.

    If Bell pans out and/or Manning starts for 3 years and lives up to the hype, that won't look too bad. Moore was not truly interested in Texas, and Fasusi wanted a quicker path to a starting spot. Besides the Russell situation, not much you can do about that. You win some and lose some on the trail. Even Saban didn't get everyone he wanted.

    Now that Kanu has committed to Texas, I wonder about the status of LaAllan Clark. I'm wondering if he will join Texas' coaching staff or if they're going in a different direction?
