    When it was the Wild, Wild, West of recruiting, Texas struggled because it won’t work in the gray area. When everything was legal, Texas came back to the top. It needs to do what it needs to in order to stay there. heck, Michigan stole signs and deleted messages related to same and still played and won a mational championship. They’ll get a slap on the wrist.

    Ojo has signed a 3-year deal with Tech….Sark can’t flip him or others that have signed similar deals. This is exactly what I was alluding to. Times have changed where waiting until November is a sound strategy

    1 for 3 today? Gerry, 2-weeks ago you said if Texas starts losing guys it was leading for you’d be concerned. Then we lose one to Fla, now Ojo looking like Tech. I understand Sark is a closer, but the dynamics have changed - what level of concern do you have? I don’t see a top 5 class unless Texas works in the gray area. Georgia, a&m, USC, Alabama may all finish ahead of Texas.

    December won’t be the same. Look what happened to the California TE (Bowmen?), he committed to USC and Texas stopped recruiting him all together. Have you heard any updates on him? No, because he was paid for 2-3 years. Texas isn’t just going to come on money to make him change his mind. the only caveat I would add is if someone fights the House Settlement and it’s determined illegal - that would allow Texas to go above the salary cap and things could change. If things stay the same, Texas doesn’t finish in the top 5.

    This is such a bad take. It’s different with the House Settlement. Why are kids going to other schools? More NIL. NIL doesn’t grow on trees, Texas won’t have more NIL in Dec (and even if it did, some of these players are already signing contracts). You cannot compare this year to any year previously.

    Let the schools and NCAA make hundreds of millions a year but cap what the kids we watch make. It’s pay for play now no matter how you slice it. Get use to it or scream to get those kids off your lawn. Texas needs to be more aggressive in the NIL and work on creative workarounds.
