  1. Bruh am I being scammed with these insider “tips”? Lmfao
  2. From Twitter (Robert Behrens): “Brent Venables' $906, 250 per win during his only two seasons as a head coach is even more than Jimbo Fisher made per win at Texas A&M ($865,384) when he received his infamous extension in 2021.”
  3. Respectfully disagree with a lot of these takes. Not sure if Terrance Brooks is an NFL talent at CB. Safety, yes, but his 1-1 coverage was severely lacking. That showed in the Spring Game and the Sugar Bowl, where he failed to turn his head in coverage, despite being in the right places assignment-wise. Cole wouldn’t be at Texas if he wasn’t an SEC corner. Plenty of good SEC corners have played at his weight/height. He has plus speed and his film is outstanding, though against weaker opponents. Auburn, Tennessee, Texas pursued for a reason. I agree there’s one PROVEN SEC CB on the roster (Muhammad), but Warren Roberson, Santana Wilson, Kobe Black immediately come to mind as guys who have requisite traits to be great. If I were a betting man I’d say Roberson will push heavily for CB2. Personally, it’s hard to take away much from the spring game in terms of safety play. Derek Williams and Andrew Mukuba looked good and like a different breed of Texas safety compared to last year. Michael Taaffe and Xavier Filsaime whiffed on two tackles leading to TDs. I’m not worried about that, considering Taaffe won’t be a starter with Mukuba in… also think Jelani McDonald will push for his job. This DB room is MUCH more talented than last year’s. Less experience, but the upside is far, far greater. A net positive offseason for the room considering the portal additions, return of Jahdae Barron, and the haul brought in via HS ranks.
  4. Tell me you didn’t have the grades to go to school in Austin without telling me
  5. I completely misspoke haha, and AD was a one-and-done too
  6. I like how all but 2 of these guys were transfers (and both transfers were more than 1 and done anyways). Texas is developing Friday stars and turning them into Sunday stars.
  7. Yes. Though Toia chose USC over UCLA initially, he went back to UCLA to play for then-Bruins DL coach Johnny Nansen quickly.
  8. Would love to go after UCLA DT Jay Toia now. He’s got great size (6-3, 325) and was productive. Initially committed to USC but transferred to UCLA after just one semester. Who was the UCLA DL coach he transferred to play under? Johnny Nansen.
  9. Any news on Michael Terry III?
  10. We’re so spoiled to read Gerry recruiting nuggets for free. @Bobby Burton whatever you end up charging for the premium of this site, I’ll pay for it.
  11. Completely agree Bobby! I felt less sure about the last 9. Just feels great to have a program where fans can argue 8-12 players can get drafted before the season starts. Of course a good handful of those are transfers, but that’s just a testament to how much kids want to play on the 40 acres.
  12. During Friday’s Coffee and Football Bobby mentioned it’ll be tough to top the amount of Texas Longhorns taken in this year’s draft next year. After looking through the roster, I’m not sure I agree. I think the following players should be drafted should they declare: 1. QB Quinn Ewers (1st round) 2. WR Isaiah Bond (1st round) 3. OT Kelvin Banks (1st round) 4. WR Matthew Golden (2nd-3rd round) 5. S Andrew Mukuba (3rd-4th round) 6. TE Amari Niblack (3rd-4th round) 7. OLB Trey Moore (3rd-4th round) 8. RB Jaydon Blue (3rd-4th round) 9. DT Alfred Collins (4th-5th round) 10. DE Barryn Sorrell (5th-7th round) 11. WR Silas Bolden (5th-7th round) 12. NB Jahdae Barron (5th-7th round) This list doesn’t include guys who I think could declare if they have a great year, including TE Gunnar Helm, OG DJ Campbell, DE Ethan Burke, and CB Terrance Brooks. There are fringe guys, too, such as C Jake Majors and LB David Gbenda. I may be higher on the above list of guys than most regarding their NFL potential, and some nay not declare altogether. That’s a long way away. But it wouldn’t surprise me to see Texas with 10-12 guys getting drafted next year knowing the talent they’ve brought in. What are y’all’s thoughts here? This look like one helluva loaded roster.
  13. All I’m saying is I’d love to see CJ livestream his Longhorns Dynasty on the new College Football 24 game
  14. Is this just Twitter/message board smoke or is there something here with Grant?
  15. Now what does Kenneth Grant, Mason Graham, and Jaheim Oatis think of him? Asking for a friend
  16. Are there any transfer portal rumblings? Is Tacario Davis an option?
  17. (Thanks for distracting me while I get through this Friday of work) I posted this on a thread but I’d like to know y’all’s thoughts on the best lower ranked guys (3*) on the offensive and defensive side of the ball. Similarly, I’d like to know which 3* from the 2024 recruiting class should be starters down the line.
  18. I’m going to throw out the QB position with my answer. Jaydon Blue/Alfred Collins
  19. Development matters. 5* athletes are great, but sometimes the staff needs to point to a 3* success story and show a high schooler how they developed them into being a guy who plays on Sundays. So, now that 3* success stories like Jaylan Ford and T’Vondre Sweat are off to the NFL, who is Texas’ most impactful 3* (high school rated) on the roster? Some examples below: - Barryn Sorrell, DE - Hayden Connor, OL - Gunnar Helm, TE - Jake Majors, C - Ethan Burke, DE
  20. Colt McCoy, but Jordan Whittington is up there too. Not a superstar talent, but was a junk yard dog who bled Burnt Orange. His impact on the locker room will be felt for a long time.
