  2. Lincoln Riley hitting the Big Ten is gonna look like a toddler wandering into a UFC cage.
  3. It's unfortunate, but as Texas fans, we're better off this year, and years going forward, if USC is actually competitive in the Big 10. Riley is damned near 0-fer against any well-coached team that USC has played since his 2022 inaugural season. 0-3 against Utah. 0-2 against Oregon, 0-2 against UW, 1-3 against ND. Those games almost all factored into the playoff landscape. This year, Riley bravely sought to eliminate one of those match-ups for his schedule by getting the Notre Dame game removed. I guess since his teams are so soft, it probably doesn't matter, but it would have been helpful to see Notre Dame have at least one other speed bump on their schedule besides Miami. Instead of a non-con that includes the domers, USC gets to play SJSU, Fresno State and Louisiana. Now, Fresno and Louisiana will actually field good teams in their conferences, but I doubt they'll handle USC. It would be funny, nonetheless. In conference, USC finally plays Ohio State while also getting UW, Oregon, at Penn State, and at Indiana plus a few bottomfeeders. I see a path for 8-4 due to the soft non-con, but assuming the team still takes on the personality of its HC, the prospects of USC going more than 1-4 against their top 5 Big 10 opponents seem unlikely. USC returns a lot on offense, but not a lot of it is high level NFL talent. The same is true on defense, where they look good on returning starts, but are those quality starts by difference makers? Overall, writers and analysts who have been by the USC lockerroom still claim a lack of "dudes" ready to start for them. The sentiments I've read and heard remind me a lot of what we had to hear from national guys during the Strong and Herman eras. I know Patterson is an excellent coach, but a DC in an offensively biased program run by a soft as pudding HC can only do so much. As to buying the guy out after another flop of a year? Good luck finding $80M+ between those couch cushions.
  4. What about the Mark Bowman and Winfield!
  5. I would love for Egypt to beat Argentina. Likely not happening.
  6. These courts do some crazy things nowadays. Find the right judge and it might work. The most powerful in order: 1. God 2. Federal Judges
  7. Are you trying to imply Yormark over did his make up?
  8. he is my number 1 flip candidate
  9. Today
  10. I like Metcalf and Ramonce in there too. Can you imagine if you had Bijan and Metcalf together?!
  11. Commissioner Yormark just said they will not answer any Sorsby questions😂
  12. I’m sure if we get a couple of those freshmen on campus they would be the DH
  13. Opening remarks by the commissioner
  14. 1. Better college player than Laya, sue me. Certainly last year, and probably this coming year too if he turns down the pros. Can actually compete against lefties, more pop, better arm, more polished player. In Laya, LSU gets two years before draft eligibility and a higher draft ceiling, but I would love Brennan if he makes it! 2. Minor point, but as of right now, I don't think we have a DH candidate from the infield, who's a better offensive player than Goldenatz. So IMO the OF+DH lineup today would be LF - Pack (unless promises were made about CF that don't reflect his actual current ability) CF - Goldenatz RF - Brennan DH - Solitaria
  15. I agree with you Gerry and honestly believe it’s the right decision to not allow it. It’s unfortunate for those guys but the rule is set for next year and trying to change that opens a can of worms.
  16. I don't think they will win, guess if my initial thought. People have asked about Jordan Pope and Weaver. If they were granted an extra year, it wouldn't be Texas. Texas already has a minutes issue they will be balancing for a lot of the season because of the talent at guard and wing on the 2026-27 team. Texas doesn't have the spot for a guard, if any of the guys appealing from any school won a year. Isaiah Johnson is the team runner/PG that will command 29-30 mins. Austin Goosby is playing starter minutes, Mikey Lewis is playing starter minutes, Amari Evans is a terrific 4th guard as a top notch defender that will be improved offensively in year two in the SEC ... all minutes in backcourt are eaten up but really good players that fit very well together in their roles. Then the wing is Elyjah Freeman starter minutes, and Bo Ogden as a very important shooter/floor spacer with rebounding ability in his role in year one. We're talking three future NBA draft picks for sure, and three others that will be pro players on some level long term.
  17. Johnny Treadwell is the #60 in my avatar. I was in the end zone right in front of that tackle, one of those memories you can't forget.
  18. Earl Campbell and Jamaal Charles… easy peasy.
  19. Sounds like a great pickup.....one wonders if Gasparino had positive things to say about his time at Texas and if that had any influence on his decision to pick Texas
  20. Someone get this article to Fa'alave-Johnson! 😊
