I remember watching Collins play too. He was part of Royal's first great backfield with Cotten, Poage, and Saxton. Later I "knew" him as one of the bankers at Austin National Bank. He wasn't my firm's banker but we occasionally dealt with him, and I retain the memory of him as cordial and helpful.

PK was good but the problems I had with PK was his passivity in just allowing easy first down throws which would allow some quarterbacks to get in a rhythm instead of being aggressive and getting our defense off the field. In addition to that was also his inability to coordinate the whole defense. In 2023 & 2025, he seemed to not be able to marry what the secondary was doing with the rest of the defense which cost us greatly in 2023 vs OU & Washington. @Jeff Howe @Gerry Hamilton @Bobby BurtonWhich game do you think was it that made Sark think that he needed to make the DC change? Malcolm Minnick | Defensive End (1971–73) A three-year letterman, Minnick earned first-team All-Southwest Conference honors in 1973, all while helping the Longhorns capture three consecutive SWC championships from 1971–73. This is a ridiculous development and I can't wait until these attempts are a thing of the past. I'm not going to be a hypocrite when I'm wholly against this in general and celebrate Hutson attempting to worm his way back into college football after 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘵 𝘉𝘳𝘰𝘸𝘯𝘴 𝘳𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘪𝘦 𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘪-𝘤𝘢𝘮𝘱 for a potential spot in the NFL.

Got nothing but love for Cole Hutson, hope he wins and is back in a Longhorn jersey. Certainly has his issues but he's a more than capable OL and as you said Jeff, can more than hold his own and will add valuable depth if not a starter.
