I think the question is: Why now? Why do you do this 3 weeks before the season starts? If the intent is genuine, then let him play the year out? It doesn’t seem to make any sense. Clemson may open up after this year, FSU may be on the hunt, USC if Riley can’t produce….Is OU desperate to hang on. I like Venables, but did he earn this extension?
