It looks at air temperature, water in the air, wind, and sunlight. Three Parts of WBGT Wet-bulb temperature: Measures how water evaporates. This shows how sweat cools the body. It handles humidity. Black globe temperature: Uses a black sphere to measure radiant heat from the sun. Dry-bulb temperature: Measures standard air temperature in the shade. Why WBGT Matters It is more accurate than a standard heat index for people working or playing in direct sun. Schools, sports leagues, and the military use it to plan safe water breaks or cancel outdoor events. It helps prevent dangerous conditions like heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
