Some of the names on the prelims are very exciting. Basharat, Cortez, Riley, Garbrandt, Gable, Whittaker! I like Bobby Green a lot but I hope McKinney can get the win. Paddy vs BSD should be very good. As for the main, I just really don't see Conor winning this.

Here’s an interesting stat. Texas averaged more yards per rush and had more yards rushing than anyone versus Ohio State. Within those numbers several teams broke a longer run so their runs games were less consistent, more volatile. i am quite curious as to several actions within the season. These numbers bring into question some of those actions. I also think Sark is getting a pass for some of the offenses shortcomings regarding preparation and play calling. And my appreciation for Wisner grows. Not a game breaker, but he’s pretty consistent. And in retrospect I think him missing the non-P5 games may have hurt our consistency and confidence.

When the governing body is inherently corrupt, it’s difficult to trust any call in any tournament game.

So you’re a Flood apologist or a Jeff worshipper? Probably neither, right? Flood’s performance has earned scrutiny and criticism. I no longer share all the reasons why but neither hate nor love plays into it. Football is a meritocracy. It’s why it’s a great game. If Flood continues to only recruit every 5 years(that class was under developed) and only do well with ready made tackles, he needs to go just like any other underperforming coach in the country. It’s nonsensical to replace PK but not Flood based on results. Why are grown folks in their feels regarding objective criticism? He cross trains well but we had no one to replace a guard and center last year? Zero bench strength in Arch’s first year. That we moved from completely limp to below average by year’s end apparently confused folks. He’s here so he should be supported but that doesn’t change the glaring underperformance. 🤘🏽

We’re 59 days away from Texas football and this one is a little different. There isn’t a long list of legendary No. 59s and Lee Lyles gets the nod here. Lyles was a three-year letterman at center from 1972-74, started during the early 1970s Darrell Royal era, helped anchor one of Texas’ potent rushing offenses, and then went on to play professionally. So we’re also looking at No. 59 by the numbers. The 1961 Texas defense gave up just 59 points all season, finished 10-1 and won the Cotton Bowl. That remains one of the stingiest defensive seasons in school history. And then there are the 59-yard touchdown passes: Case McCoy to Marcus Johnson in the 2013 Red River upset of No. 12 Oklahoma. Major Applewhite to Wane McGarity in the 1999 Cotton Bowl win over Mississippi State. Arch Manning to Parker Livingstone in the 2025 win over Mississippi State. Not the easiest countdown day, but No. 59 still gives us a few pretty cool Texas football nuggets.

The reason the staff moved Baker to G is because they see that as his long term position in the NFL. Even if he does come back I'm not sure he would slide back out to T. Likewise Siani isn't really a LT more suited to RT. As for Camara physically he is ready to play day 1 but he's still very raw in terms of his technique and all that. Which is understandable he's only played 2 or so years of HS ball. I think right now you're more likely to see him either slide to RT or a G position. I think the Coleman twins are going to have a lot to say next year when it comes to earning a starting spot. Can't forget about Turntine either. So he'll have his work cut out for him because there is a lot of talent in the OL room. Just need to see it on the field, I'm in wait and see mode when it comes to Flood. But I agree with you, I do love this pick up and I actually quite like the OL haul this year in general. The biggest question is, who takes over for C in 2027. Very important position on the OL and very underrated.

As much as I dont like the dude, he ghosted ou, and he has developed as many top end qbs as anyone in the game. HC may not be his strong suit but could pretty much name his next OC job and any program would be remiss if they didnt at least consider it. -

Kiffin has to prove he has what it takes at a P5 or now P4 program before I'll buy the hype on him. Great offensive mind but has sh*t the bed at every big time stop. Maybe the portal/NIL helps him. If he can't field a competent D at LSU, then he never will. -

There's a reason he went running from OU to head to USC when they were in the pac 12 only for them to head to the Big 10 shortly after lol. The dude is a great offensive mind but everything else he's not so great at. Was handed the keys to the kingdom at OU and then ran for the hills (so to speak). My guess is if he gets let go, he'll head to the NFL as an OC. Good thing USC has a bonefide replacement in GP on staff. Dude is probably chomping at the bit to get a hold of a program like USC and t heir resources lol. -
