Cozart will be the #2 and the staff loves what they already have. There’s a reason why they haven’t pursued starting pitchers in the portal. Look what they’ve done with guys like Luke Harrison. We have much more talented guys than him and the staff has proved they can develop pitchers.

I don’t think he was expected to be a top 10 round guy. I don’t think I’ve seen him on any type of draft list. He must really be eager to start his pro career.

That was because literally nobody knew about this possibility until July 8 or 9 ... and OTF had cut the video June 17, and knew about for more than a week prior. That rarely happens in this industry.

As of right now (1 p.m. Sunday), I believe the first post in the thread is update with draft picks and signees who've publicly confirmed that they're pulling out of the draft pool and going to Texas.

They are getting the most out of their money. You definitely spend on a kid like this. Getting two years out of him is just forward thinking, and I love that. I have always said those that can figure out NIL the best will rise the highest. They know when to spend and when to let somebody else take them. With Spears Jr he has two parents that played professionally and with Johnson they have his father. They have already prepared their kids for the transition.
