  1. Past hour
  2. We’re down to 52 days until kickoff, so today’s countdown spot goes to some pretty solid names in burnt orange. Samuel Cosmi turned into one of the best offensive tackles Texas has had in recent years, earned second-team All-America honors in 2020, was first-team All-Big 12 that same season, and wound up as a second-round NFL Draft pick. He also did something you almost never see from a Texas offensive lineman: scoring a rushing touchdown. Charlie Tanner deserves some love too. He was a dependable piece of the offensive line in the late 2000s, played in 45 games with 33 starts, earned all-conference recognition, and started every game for the 2009 Big 12 championship team that played for the national title. DJ Campbell played in 50 games with 43 starts and became a steady presence up front over the last few years. He was a big part of the lines that helped Texas reach back-to-back College Football Playoffs and the 2024 SEC Championship Game. Current No. 52 is freshman defensive lineman James Johnson.
  3. That team was so stacked. Lt's do a head-to-head comparison after the season.
  4. Man, that 2005 defensive backfield.... wow. What a team and year that was. A lot of similarities to this team in terms of depth - if anything, feels like we are deeper now. As said above - WR seems like a stronger room now, but overall a lot of either/ors for me. Of course, we know how that year played out and still have to see this year, but the pieces are there. Let's go! 🤘
  5. What makes this even more hilarious is they lost Seaton to the portal. He was the best lineman they had. Talk about gassing up. That was very foolish and is a terrible look on his credibility.
  6. I’d take this and probably many other years over the 2005 receivers. Outside of sweed there just wasn’t anything there that stands out(Shipley being hurt and Quan being a freshman is it). I’d probably also take the current crop of linebackers.
  7. 20 NFL Draft picks that appeared on that team (guys like Jermichael Finley, Colt McCoy and Jordan Shipley etc... red shirted) 5 first rounders 4 second rounders 3 third rounders

  10. Conversation: 2005 Texas Longhorns National Championship Two-Deep This was the Texas Longhorns official two-deep from the 2005 Big 12 Championship team. So the discussion is this ... where is that team better than the 2026 Texas team on paper. I know the 2026 team is yet to play, but it's a fun look back and comparison a few days out from SEC Media Days. OFFENSE FLANKER (Z) 6 Quan Cosby Fr. 9 Nate Jones So. 2 Brian Carter Sr. TIGHT END (Y) 16 David Thomas Sr. 87 Neale Tweedie Jr. RIGHT TACKLE 63 Justin Blalock Jr. 78 William Winston Sr. RIGHT GUARD 72 Will Allen Sr. 55 Cedrick Dockery Fr.-RS CENTER 62 Lyle Sendlein Jr. 67 Dallas Griffin So. 11. Agree. It's the little things that he does to avoid tacklers that's amazing to me. If our OL and scheme can get this athlete into the open, watch out.
  12. l love the small adjustments that he makes while running to put him in the best position to avoid being tackled.
  13. Another factor not discussed much is the hire of Muschamp. Sark calling him the head coach of the defense is not just hyperbole in my opinion. Sark is now free to focus primarily on the offense and game preparation without having to be concerned with the D. I believe this can be a gamechangwr in addition to Milwee in the press box.
  14. The link doesn't work. Omen?
  15. I remember when Timmy left money on the table for the Spurs. I do think it adds to the aura of leadership when teammates know part of their pay essentially came from their on the playing surface captain [or QB]..
  16. DHT, you do what you wanna do. We all need to be exposed to differing opinions and ideas. I agree about the confidence vs ignorance pov, b/c he will find out soon that the competition is a lot tougher in college that HS, and the pros are a much bigger leap. Lessons that we all learned through life, and this was sort of like whistling while walking through a graveyard. Telling yourself that you are good.
  17. Moving Milwee to the Box seemed to be a real game changer. No matter what other play calling coaches prefer, that is the set up that gives us the extra vision that Sark needs.
  18. Where did the Longhorns rank, in the country and in the conference, in those key statistical areas during the stretch Milwee went to the press box?
  19. I recommend a parking pass unless you want to walk a country mile.
  20. Imagine being Tyran Stokes.....kid walked into a cool 5 million and the starting PG gig for Bill Self. Not bad...
  21. Ha, understand....another option then>>> Where are your seats at? That actually matters for parking way more than people think. Mine are on the east side, so I park on the east side and shuttle straight into Gate 14 -- cheap, safe, and you’re basically dropped right at the stadium. Don't quote me on this, but Costs like $10–$20 depending on the game. Call Cap-Metro Call CapMetro Customer Service at 512‑474‑1200 and ask for the Texas Football Game Day Shuttle schedule. They’ll tell you the exact frequency for the specific game. and what lots to park in like 70, 80, and 84. These are the bigger lots east of 35...again, call cap metro to confirm. You park in one of those shuttle lots, walk maybe 2–3 minutes to the shuttle pickup, and the shuttle drops you right on the east side near Gate 14. Short walk, cheap parking, and the buses run every few minutes both before and after the game. i used to do the old Guadalupe/51st shuttle but this doesn’t run anymore --- CapMetro consolidated everything into the East Campus route. If your seats are on the north side, the closest option is Manor Garage, but the exit is rough. No shuttle drops on the north side - you’d still enter on the east and walk inside the stadium. If your seats are on the west side, Trinity Garage is the closest, but again, no shuttle drops over there. You’d still use the East Campus shuttle and walk inside the stadium to the west concourse. If you want the “park close and barely walk” experience without paying donor prices, the shuttle is the move no matter where your seats are.
  22. I haven't broken down his film but he's a game changer on College Football 27. Ever since I made him RB 1 my offense has been much better.
  23. I mean we have a thread going right now about Tom Herman being at FSU now. Herb Hand is the OL coach there. @Joe Zura should be turning into an FSU fan. Obviously Herb Hand was so much better than Kyle Flood, how could JZ not be a huge fan?
  24. When I read Marion’s comments, the first thing I thought about was how much Joe and Marion would be besties. 🤣
  25. What I think will make this even more dangerous is the fact there are so many other weapons around him, too. Coleman, Wingo, Mosley, Townsend and even Arch to an extent. You can't just focus on one part and that will make him even more dangerous in the pass game.
