  1. Past hour
  2. It’s 9:24 AM. And Baker Mayfield and OU still….
  3. I got to watch NOLA Isidore Newman play St. John’s (Houston) last Friday night. It was eye-opening in that the level of competition really is insanely low. My son plays for SJS, so I’ve watched them plenty in 3 years. They’ve had a couple of guys that went on to play college ball, but not a FBS one among them that I recall. Watching Newman, they didn’t look like many, if any, either. It makes sense for SJS as they’re an academic power and sports aren’t a priority. I assume that could be the case with Newman. Point is, yeah, even if Manning has all of the tools and the mind for everything, I think everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, vastly underestimated his learning curve starting point for big time college ball. The good news is that ratcheting up a learning curve on a subject matter in which someone is both invested and bright can often be non-linear. In QB terms, Joe Burrow’s journey and performance in college reflects that perfectly. I feel like we’re witnessing something in that same form with Manning. Saturday will tell me how right or wrong that notion for him is, I guess. Here’s hoping. Good article, nonetheless.
  4. Okay, so he's not a complete a**hole.
  5. “No one is perfect” means even flawed individuals can do great things every once in a while. That was a great thing and it should be applauded.
  6. I wouldn’t give Baker Mayfield the heat of my piss, but sure, that’s a nice move and smart donation.
  7. Once gooner trailer park trash always gooner trailer park trash. F*ck ou! 🤣🖕😂
  8. Jeff, do you think we should take the 3 points when we can get it more? Because I feel like some of our problems are going for it on 4th down in the red zone and coming away with nothing to show for all the work to get there. To me, that is so devastating. Sometimes singles and doubles can win games. You don't always have to hit home runs. But...on the flip side, if you look at Georgia, they have this killer instinct that I think is so impressive, and always at the most crucial times of a game. It's like Kirby senses the moment and gives his guys a look and they all get it. Example: 2024 SEC championship game, Makuba absolutely blows up Gunnar Stockton at the 5 yard line, we're up 19-16 in OT. The momentum of that hit could have easily propelled us to a win. Nope. The VERY next play, Georgia races to the line no huddle after a timeout and an injured Carson Beck hands the ball off and they blow us off the line of scrimmage for the game winning TD. That was some Mike Tyson level heavyweight hitting.
  9. Good point. The SEC is demonstrating the authority a conference can exert with the LSU fiasco.
  10. Today
  11. Absolute best for donating 18k? The guy just aigned a three year 165 million dollar contract. Give me a break. Tax the elite wealthy like FDR.
  12. Sounds like the injury is not too sever, which is good news. Trust the training staff to do the right thing by him.
  13. Oof. That's a tough one. Heal up, AC.
  14. Norm McDonald, Jimmy Carr, Ron White, Nate Bargatze, Bill Engvall, Rodney, Foxworthy, Mitch Hedberg.
  15. For someone who makes a reported $55MM/year, that’s the equivalent of $32.50 for a guy making $100k per year, plus I’m sure his accountant will figure out a way to write it off. Not bad for some positive press. He’s still a giant prick.
  16. Oh ok thanks for that. Totally understand . Appreciate the update!
  17. Brutal injury especially for a lineman. Praying he's able to recover. Feel very badly for the young man.
  18. I said "several people close to Cooper". Those people are rescheduling to another game later in the season after the injury and unknown status. I don't know if his mom is attending. Haven't seen here miss anything before!
  19. Noticed you said yesterday his family may not come now. Whether he plays or not hope his family decides to come anyway. I totally understand if not, hey people have jobs and stuff lol. But just for the atmosphere it would still be a great trip.
  20. There are grades of high ankle sprains.
  21. Gaffigan, Mulaney and Redd Foxx.
  22. I hope he plays but even if he doesn't, I like that that he's out there a little. Any word on who the 3rd back is if he doesn't play? Simon looked the best of the backups to me.
  23. This is great news. He will be back sooner rather than later it seems.
  24. If it’s a high ankle sprain why don’t we just rest him and try to get him as healthy as possible for sec play ?
