On another note, dropping Ohio St. for losing the #4 team at the time and currently #1 team to #6 is pretty shitty because it's punishing them (much like Texas was punished for losing last year) for scheduling a tough non-conference matchup instead of john's junior high. It's going to further push schools not to schedule these games because it would hinder their chances at post-season goals. At worst, Ohio st. probably should have dropped to 4 since that's where Texas was.

Booing your own team is the ultimate trash fan activity. I was around for that Kansas loss, this ain't that bad lol. However, if I saw another backwards pass for a 5 yard loss. A boo might have come out.

I wouldn't do it and don't think it is a good idea, but I think it was easy to see people were booing flat passes/bubble screens that mostly weren't working. That's about Sark's play calls. I think Sark knows the standard is the standard, he mentioned he heard it, and he was a man about it. I imagine he can coach the guys through it, too.

Sikorski has really shored up the left side. He also has a mean streak mentality. He doesn't want anyone to think they can punk him. On the final touchdown he pushed his opponent into the end zone.

Regarding the booing, a lot of us (myself included) were very vocal about how displeased we were with the showing up until the 4th quarter. We are all human and spending $500+ at minimum to see a team that looked unfocused and unprepared must have been frustrating.

1. I was down on the rail on the East side and I did not see anyone rushing the field. I think most of the people on the field were from the south endzone club who have direct access to the field. I am not sure if they are truly allowed to go out past the end zone after the game, but it was not a "rush the field". 2. UT fans were definitely booing, and maybe it was "directed" at Sark, but I guarantee that is not how it was taken. The players will think it is directed at them (and they did hear it). 3. I always have and always will thinking booing your own team is stupid. Whether that is college or professional sports. I understand the frustration and the temptation to boo, but it says more about the maturity of us fans than it does anything else. It is not like the players or coaches are not trying to do their best and booing is going to somehow remind them to play or coach harder. They are trying way harder than we are as fans. They are just humans and sometimes fail. 4. Save the booing for the refs. They may also be trying their best, but booing may actually subconsciously lead them to benefitting your team on the next close call.

No clue what the scouts think of him but he's clearly not a natural receiver and it's not like he has Marquise Goodwin or Xavier Worthy speed.

Here’s the thing. I’ve seen countless times in the past year plus criticism about missing wide open receivers. So it can’t be both ways. Nevermind all QBs miss some. One of the Tengwall clips from this past Saturday had him questioning why he didn’t throw to Shannon. Only Arch can answer that, but the throwing window at that moment was not clean. In the arm chair QBing, that element is largely disregarded. That matters and it happens in split second increments. The Film Guy last year criticized when Downs gave him a coverage look, believe it was a cover 2 look then bailed to something else then a TE came open later. OSU throws a lot of bodies into coverage with high level skillls. Maybe mix in some false reads. Keep in mind, we’ve basically had no film on OSU either year. So if you advocate for quick progressions, you have to understand that maybe false reads impact reads. Maybe that didn’t happen this year, but I bet it did with Downs. If you progress quickly, invariably guys will become open after the QB has progressed.

Agree the drops are a big problem, but Arch needs to improve as well. From what I can see rewatching the first 2 games, it's all about decision making and competency of his plays and reads. He has a bad habit of staying on his first read too long because he's optimistic that the route can develop into something if given an extra 1-2 secs. The issue is that the play is not designed for QBs to wait like that. The coaches really need to instill in him an internal metronome. Each tick is a read and progression. If it's not there you MUST go to the next read no matter what. For me it's disrespecting the play designer and callers when you don't execute them correctly assuming no protection breakdowns. By mid to late season, he'll have a lot of reps on most of the plays which should help but he needs to spend more time on the cerebral side of quarterbacking if he wants to be a viable NFL QB. Talk to Uncle Peyton more than Uncle Eli. That said, he can still get us a natty but his ceiling is much higher than that if he can develop the discipline and meticulous side of playing football.
