  1. Past hour
  2. Not sure how you be a top basketball job with only top 25-30 NIL...
  3. @Gerry Hamilton thoughts? Goodman seems to always base these off of coaches he talks to.
  4. You boys are lost in media hype. Kentucky is a graveyard. Non-blue bloods like UConn, Florida, Arizona, Villanova, Michigan State, Houston, etc, etc. are better than Kentucky. It's not 1996.
  5. Obviously KY should be #1. Arkansas has had a more consistent winning mbb tradition than Florida but I'm a bit surprised Florida was 5th after their 3 NCs in the 2000s. Florida has 2 more NCs than Ark and has outperformed Arkansas head to head 28-15. I lean Florida #2 since we are talking job rankings of today. Texas has a strong national brand, new stadium and money but I would put us #4 in mbb. Our money has not been all in on mbb. TX fanbase interest and support seems to wane more so when we are not good compared to other passionate basketball programs. TN #5 imo. A&M should not be in the top 6 imo.
  6. Jeff you've pretty much summarized how the team has consistently played in the SEC schedule and what we should expect the rest of the year. It's matchup dependent to an extent but this team lives and dies by Swain shooting efficiently and Mark not having an off night. Matas will be in foul trouble (minus a bad game plan by the opponent not to attack him) every game and Pope will be invisible 50% of the time. We just got to hope that these hot nights by Pope or Heide pop up at the right times. That said, we look like we're tournament bound which is more than I could say a month ago which speaks to the job Miller has been doing of late.
  7. I’m not sure the transfers will be any better, but we’ll see. Maybe they won’t need to be better but hold up just enough.
  8. Indiana isn't a juggernaut in football. Georgia Tech won a football natty in 1990. Didn't make them a juggernaut. I'd put Texas over Kentucky because of talent base. Not to mention the only basketball fans in the world more delusional than Kentucky fans are Cuban infected Mavs fans.
  9. I have an aggie coworker who says the reason Texas has such a huge overall record against the aggies is because for so many years the aggies did not admit women. I kid you not. That is his main excuse
  10. I was being sarcastic. It wasn't a great block. It just shows his lack of pass blocking ability. Defenders know that they can bullrush him. Oh well, not our problem anymore, hopefully.
  11. I have a feeling PG is the first think we are looking at in the portal
  12. Today
  13. Somebody post the sparkler restaurant chaos from that DL official visit to LSU a few years back 😂 that's how I picture this gala.
  14. We know who we are Harvey, just having fun talking about it. But, we do know enough to know that a good Point Guard changes lives. 🙂
  15. Hit portal
  16. If you want big improvement next season, better hope for a point guard. Casual basketball fans understand the game about as much they understand thermonuclear dynamics. Like goobers talking about Luka as some kind of savior. Reminds me of one of my favorite film lines from Revenge. "They're no doubt expecting a common, reliable stud, which he ain't."
  17. Think swain comes back milers interview made it clear that swain can still improve more
  18. They're 5-5 in SEC play now with 8 games to go. Looking at their remaining schedule, I think a tourney bid (without having to participate in the play-in game) is a lock if they can win their next 3 games (Mississippi, @ Missouri, LSU) and they win at least one of their last 5 games. Texas would finish the regular season 9-9 in SEC play if that scenario pans out. A win at home against OU is the most likely of those last 5 games, but this team has shown they tend to play up and down to the competition, so I could see them getting an upset @ Georgia or @ A&M. I don't see them beating a red hot UF team at the Moody or winning @ Arkansas, but you never know. That's why they play the games.
  19. I disagree with Texas being as high as they are, unless they're just basing that off of potential. Florida, Arkansas, and Auburn should be in the top five because they have won national championships or made multiple Final Four appearances as members of the SEC. However, the NIL era has shown us that your past history in a sport doesn't matter if you are willing to adapt. No one besides Cignetti and his staff could've saw Indiana becoming a juggernaut in football as IU had never had a 10+ win season until they arrived in 2024. Texas could become a top 3 SEC program in men's hoops if they wanted to. That's the key. Are they willing to do it or are they content with being good to great at the other 20 sports on campus and halfarseing the second biggest money maker in their athletic department? This portal window after the men's hoops season is over will tell us everything fans need to know, as will CDC town hall meeting tonight.
  20. Texas literally does something similar to this via the Texas One Fund every April or May at DKR with a concert.
  21. The Brits use it when referring to the Welsh. I thought it was fitting though. 😂
  22. if we go 4-2 for the rest of the season (losses to UF and UGA) is that enough to secure us a spot or would we still need to make a run in the SEC tournament
  23. OMG this looks one has me ROFLing
  24. That list has to be fake
  25. He’s definitely lost.
