PK rarely if ever played man press. Agreed that Muschamp does not always do it, but he does in spots that gives Texas an advantage. PK defenses were littered with some pretty darn good players. Guys like Simmons and Hill were constantly being dropped into coverage. Blitz rate PK was below 40% every year except 2025 where he was at exactly 40. Muschamp over 40% every game with the exception of Tennessee where a manufacted blitz was not needed. Average plays per game PK just shy of 70 Muschamp 64. That means your offense is getting the ball quicker and defense is not getting burnt up. Havoc rate has increased 3 and outs have increased. Early in the season but the stats dont lie.

Texas has shown all of these key areas to the game and has shown them well, but it needs to become a routine for them if they want to win it all. I want to put discipline in its own category though. Execution and consistency can be achieved quicker and easier for this team as it has shown when Texas has needed too (Clutch offensive drives and defensive stands). But discipline on penalties will make or break this team. They’ve shown they can be disciplined. Take the Ohio State game for example, the Longhorns wouldn’t have even had the opportunity to make the comeback they did if they played as sloppy and undisciplined as they did in Neyland this past Saturday. I believe discipline will take this team the whole nine yards.

No. I’d guess we almost never played 10 yards off on 3rd and 6. Only two teams in top 10 3rd down defense two of the past three years - Texas, Utah. Only 1 in top 25 all 3 years - Texas. The numbers say otherwise.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year

Lets discuss all things ou sucks and things we love about the game. My buddies and me always hang in the food court. It has become an annual tradition. Get there early, eat some good food and have some Shiner Bocks. We used to hang by the Greek stand but our buddy Greek guy is gone so the last few years we had to get other tables.... We have been doing this for about 30 years now. It's the nest day of the year. Would love if some OTF folks came by and have a cold one with us... lol. I started responding to each point but there isn’t one if you think a rb fumble and 2 dropped passes by “elite” receivers is out of our control. The odd bounce after it went through cam’s hands is atypical but it wasn’t a circus catch and one of Arch’s better deep throws this year. Sexier is an odd comment. All folks are doing is extrapolating our current weaknesses to see where we might get tripped up. I simply can’t comprehend those of you that want to wish away our vulnerabilities. It makes zero sense. It also doesn’t negate what we do well. What do y’all think Sark and team are doing right now? They’re, hopefully, pressure testing all of it after the 1st 1/3. Literally, recognizing our deficiencies is the only way we have any shot at a championship season. If one is bothered that anyone other than Sark and team has an opinion, disconnect your internet. This is 3rd and 18 in high red area and likely taking a shot at the end zone. We were playing 10 yards off on 3rd and 6 last year in between the 20s just giving up easy underneath completions. We played super soft coverage nearly all the time.

Agree! These guys also get to see a leader make a mistake, take ownership, and hold themselves and others to a higher standard. When that happens it’ll be a big positive step for this whole team. Mistakes happen it’s how we respond that show our true character.
