  1. Past hour
  2. They moved from assigned reserved to GA during the late Perrin / early CDC years. This was done when we were quite bad at football (I was a student!) and demand was…muted. Now there is significant “over subscription” relative to availability which drives this line. Think we have <20k student tickets available. Believe there are other rules in place as well which drive qualification for football tickets but someone younger than me can opine. The good news is our students heavily support the team these days!
  3. I was working for the state at the Office of Court administration. It’s right next to the Capitol. We watched the first plan hit and then they told us all the head home after the second plan hit. There was confusion on if this was Bush related (Former Governor) or possible attacks on all capitols. I remember thinking just how unprepared we all were. When the pentagon got it, I realized we were all vulnerable because we were so unprepared. It took time for F16s to get in the air to protect President Bush. I believe initially one of the fighter jets was from the national guard. When all planes were grounded it simply reinforced how vulnerable we had become. Nobody knew if there were more planes out there. I kept waiting to hear if another place had been hit. It was mass chaos. A lot of time has passed since Pearl Harbor. It’s human nature to relax over a period of time. Those next few days were just unbelievable disbelief in what happened and how it happened.
  4. Woke up this morning still feeling like Texas needs to the into the 30s to win the game. Need Sark to come out aggressive.
  5. "...this at least ensures DKR is a fearsome place to play". Absolutely! You want your dedicated fanatics as close to the field as possible. You don't want a bunch of casual observers leisurely filtering into their seats during the first two quarters. Since this policy was implemented, the student section has been rabid and can hold their own with any other student body. Hoping they will be off-scale fanatical freaks tomorrow! It'll definitely help the team and should make a great impression on the large number of recruits that will be in attendance. Hook 'em!
  6. It adds up if you think about it. We actually have cheaper tickets than they do but Texas fans are bigger jerks than Aggies so tickets on the open market cost more. It has nothing to do with the talent on the field, location, or opponent when it comes to Texas.
  7. Texas basketball NIL is moving differently now. Love to see it.
  8. Ive lived in Texas since 2014 but yes sir born in Worcester went to holy name high school
  9. Uh, how does the demand in the secondary market equate to raking our fans over the coals to get a seat?
  10. A fellow Worcester Longhorn??
  11. Today
  12. Part of the student section thing was a change made by CDC with the intention of making sure the student section was all in on the game. The people who stand in line are more likely to be in DKR rowdy for 4 quarters. It started shortly after I graduated, but we used to have a huge problem of students getting in and leaving drunk and hungry at halftime. you’re never going to have a perfect formula with the student section, but this at least ensures DKR is a fearsome place to play 🤘
  13. This event at 1:30pm today is open to the public.
  14. i was a junior at Texas. two of my roommates were ROTC kids. they were early risers and had the news on in the living room when it all happened. it was eery that day, looking up and noticing that there were no aircraft in the sky.
  15. not sure i'd trade WR groups just to pick up smith. in fairness, he's better than coleman and wingo, but there's only one of him, and while their other guys aren't scrubs, i think our group as a whole is better. i'd take our TEs over theirs, as well. the analysis was basically "we don't have any information, but...tOSU" i think our TEs will be a factor in this game.
