Yeah, I’ll hold off on acting like he’ll tear it up until proven on the field. Still folks are here dumbfounded arch looks the way he does. The same ones screaming to bench quinn in 2023 and 2024.

Trend to Watch for Saturday *** Back with another statistic that isn't too favorable for the Texas offense. I know, I know. It's not very fun to talk about, and I am sure this is a point that is getting tiresome. But it quite literally could not have a larger discrepancy in conference rankings. We are back talking about three-and-out rates on offense. For a few weeks now, I have been tracking SEC offenses and their likeliness to punt after failing to gain ten yards and move the chains on their first three plays of a drive. It has been a true Achilles heel for the Texas offense so far this season, and the number has continued to rise over the last couple of weeks – How? Well, I don't want to get into that. But, here is the key statistic. *** Texas has the highest 3-and-out rate in the SEC so far this season. In eight games, the Longhorns have a 31.25% rate of going 3-and-out on offensive drives. On 96 drives, the Longhorns have punted after three plays on 30 so far this season. A sobering statistic. *** On the flipside, Missouri is the very best in the country at moving the chains on a given drive. Missouri has the lowest 3-and-out rate in the SEC so far at 12.12%. Only 12 of the Tigers' 99 offensive drives have gone 3-and-out. *** So when it comes to game flow, and when it comes to finding a way to play complementary football, there is no statistic that I have found so far in my early game prep that leads me to think the flow of the game will be more heavily dictated than one way or the other. How can Texas help itself out? No false starts, five men in the backfield penalties, or illegal shifts. The Longhorns had one of each against Mississippi State on Saturday in the 31–3 victory. Playing on the road is difficult in the SEC, Texas doesn't need to make it tougher than it already is.

I rewatched the Arky Missou game. Two things: 1. I don't think Missou is ready for our defense. The aggies are probably the best D they've played this year, but they ain't us. 2. Arky is not a good team and gave up on that game. IF our offense plays at an average level or above, we cover. Have already put my wager in.

Injury update on Kade Phillips | Sunday, 1:50 p.m.

Imagine how Ohio State feels. Injuries have decimated their season. -
I don't think Arch should come back. The Ravens had a kid out there who can't shine Arch's shoes. Arch will take a bunch of lumps just like all rookie quarterbacks do. He might as well get out there and hopefully learn from a vet. If he wants to be a pro...GO!

I'm not sure anyone is gonna be let go
-
I think KJ transfers regardless, he needs to play. He’ll be dirty at LSU next year
-
I think that Sark and Herman both have this issue that their offense is too mediocre to ever get separation and blow people out. With Strong we were just hoping to win the damn game, let alone blow someone out. Back in the Mack days when our offense could score 40 points regularly we didn't have this problem and the backups played plenty. The main flaw with Mack is that he'd put in the backup QB but never let him throw the ball. So at that particular position we didn't get any meaningful experience.

Banks is gone, weirdo aggie. Actually surprised he lasted 2 years with Saban. And you can’t have the means we have and have a bad o-line for this long. Figure it out, good grief. Figuring it out would be start over and get what you need for next year. Dont care about sark calling plays or not, but put someone in the booth that could call plays.
-
Yea I mean an "ultimatum" is not required here. You say look Sark, you being your own OC is obviously not working. It's time to bring in the offensive version of Muschamp and step back into purely head coaching role. If Sark still can't see this very obvious picture after what has taken place this season, then we don't want this guy in charge of our program and need to eat the buyout. This should not require any significant convincing.
-
At seasons end regardless of what happens banks needs to be given one task and we need to find a legit special teams coach, flood has to be shown the door, and sark should be told to find a young and upcoming OC that he can help with play calling. Sark is really good at designing plays but seems to get in his head for parts of the game and go back to throwing deep all the time instead of analyzing the game and see what's working. Also we need to give muschamp a raise, make him one of the highest DCs.
-
Serious question, but does an ultimatum end up working out? At the end of the day if you’re a head coach that can’t operate the team the way you want then how are you going to be successful? I think he has to willingly make the changes you mentioned or Texas should move on. People will say there aren’t better options, but you can’t keep doing the same thing each year and hope for the best. Not with the amount of NIL this program spends.

and....we STILL lost to them! 🙄
-
OL, OL, OL. Our OL is and has been a complete disgrace. We did have Banks and Cam Williams, but the only reason we got those two was because Cristobal took off for Miami last minute. Goolsby was a diamond in the rough 3 star guy that everyone missed. Us and A&M were his only 2 big offers. Without a functioning OL, all the weapons we have will continue to go to complete waste.
-
Which of these jobs is Banks qualified to keep at this point? Our TE room is dreary and our special teams unit is a national laughingstock.
-
Hire an OC you would want to be play caller if you couldn’t do it. Separate the job of Jeff Banks into two different divisions of labor. ST and TE. Figure out what’s wrong with the OL. If it’s coaching or just the fact that you need new blood, then make the call.
-
Two years in a row of his offense looking completely putrid so changes must be made.
-
This is Texas football. We play junior and senior starters mostly, at QB or any other position. The next year there is a crisis because we have no one with playing experience.
-
If he really believes that it's just asinine logic. I do think there is like a ~50% chance we just fire him and eat the buyout. And if he actually thinks what you and Hank are saying then that is probably exactly what goes down. But again, short of some kind of miracle run to finish the year, I'll be absolutely shocked if Sark is his own OC again in 2027. It will be either a new HC or new OC IMO.
-
I do agree with that part, too. As I watch freshmen contribute all over, we have juniors that are lost.
-
Based on what was said by hank at the top of this thread is what i am really starting to believe. Sark was hired here for his ability to call plays at bama, So getting an OC would be him waving the white flag that he failed. If i am him, But i am too stubborn, hard headed and unwilling to relinquish play calling duties gracefully find a way out through either a job in the NFL or resigning.
