  1. Past hour
  2. I liked the idea of a Texas defensive back wearing 28 for one game to honor Freddie. Duke Thomas did for the 2015 game against Kansas, when the 1969 championship team was recognized, but it didn't happen after that (at least that I can remember).
  3. He committed to Texas on the day Gerry, Bobby and I went live on the 247 Texas site. Fun day!
  4. I agree. Plant the seeds early without knowing what it’s for so it becomes second nature immediately.
  5. I love how sark doesn’t tell the team he is doing that though
  6. Day did this last year with Howard and Devin Brown. He’s since said that he pretty much knew all along. Bill Kurelic has said on their 247 board that the same vibe is there for Sayin with the team. I assume he’s the guy.
  7. It depends on what prong you use. Enrollment numbers are just one option a school can use to comply.
  8. Good thing we increased our women's scholarship counts! And no, women do not deserve equal NIL share because they're sports do not make money and revenue isn't federally gifted money. With that said if a school borrows from academic side to pay for NIL they that school specifically should be subject to Title IX policy with regards to NIL.
  9. Sark said they will start that tOSU prep two weeks out from game day. But you’re right, I bet this whole summer has been filled with pieces specifically for the Buckeyes.
  10. Today
  11. He should get his degree first. He may never be the same, like the Alabama RB that transferred to TCU a couple years ago.
  12. The issue with comparing to Blue with anyone like Sproles ... Darren Sproles was an unbelievably reliable player. In HS, college and the NFL. Jaydon Blue has never been a reliable player. Not in high school, and not at Texas. Blue has always been very talented. But he has a very big jump in reliability in front of him to have a successful and long career in the NFL. Just a few weeks ago he was being called lazy within the organization. He's got to bring consistency and reliability IMO.
  13. Great information thanks ! I’ve been believing it was going to be Sayin but it appears there is a competition going on at QB1 for Ohio St. It could be a true competition or Day could be messing with PK . You know we are preparing for Ohio State now .
  14. I don’t know about Sproles but Blue is/was a dude. We will miss him BUT I think Clark is going to surprise this year to some. He has some Bijan to him and I’ve thought that the moment I saw his film in HS. He will be tough to corral in space. He doesn’t have Blue’s acceleration but I think he has the ability to make people miss and better contact balance.
  15. And here is a link to their day one notes: https://www.elevenwarriors.com/ohio-state-football/2025/07/157053/ohio-state-practice-observations-beau-atkinson-and-epi-sitanilei-stand-out-on-first-day-of-camp-caleb-downs-lines?amp
  16. Sayin is listed at 6–1, 203 on the Buckeye roster.
  17. Keeping an Eye on the Buckeye QBs It is certainly worth keeping an eye on what is going on in fall camp in Columbus. The expectation entering fall camp is QB1 is Julian Sayin, though I have heard over the summer that the competition is a little closer than folks in Columbus might have envisioned. Buckeyes head coach Ryan Day told reporters in Columbus after day one of fall camp his QB situation will be watched closely over the course of the next week: "We're just getting moving around, so hard to tell. I do think all three of them look a little bit stronger, a little bit more explosive, moving better. A little bit more command of the huddle. But we'll watch the film and kind of go from there. Day 1 without pads is kind of hard. We'll have a better feel -- give me four or five days and get a better idea." Career Stats Julian Sayin: 5/12 passing, 84 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT Sayin has a career long of 55 yards which came against Western Michigan in a 56–0 victory last fall. Lincoln Kienholz: 10/22 passing, 111 yards, 0 TD, 0 INT The majority of tape we have seen on Kienholz came in a disastrous Cotton Bowl appearance against Missouri in 2023. Kienholz, who was thrust into action, completed six of 17 attempts and had six rush attempts for two yards. Tavien St. Clair: true freshman St. Clair was the No. 1 quarterback in the country per 247Sports and the No. 4 player overall in the class of 2025.
  18. There’s a lot more in depth notes on the actual story. Here’s a link to the article, which is free: https://www.elevenwarriors.com/ohio-state-football/2025/08/157072/ohio-state-practice-observations-turbo-rogers-flashing-in-first-two-practices-no-big-move-in-quarterback-battle-yet
  19. These are some practice notes from Eleven Warriors, which I’ll include the link below. Offense: - Two days into preseason camp, my overall view on the quarterback competition remains the same as it was going in. It’s fair to call Sayin the presumptive frontrunner, but I still believe there’s a real competition between him and Kienholz – especially after Kienholz was named an Iron Buckeye on Friday. Neither quarterback has delivered a wow moment yet in camp, but they also haven’t made many glaring mistakes. As was the case on Thursday, there wasn’t a runaway winner of the day between the two quarterbacks. Sayin had the more efficient day on Friday, showing composure in the pocket and making smart decisions with the ball, but the vast majority of his throws in Friday’s practice were short throws. Kienholz operated with a similar script and had a few misfires, including one near-interception for which he had to run a lap around the field - James Peoples and CJ Donaldson were the first running backs in the order for their respective squads and continue to look the part of OSU’s top two running backs this season. Defense: - Eddrick Houston did not participate in drills but was present for Friday’s practice, walking around the field in a knee brace with a slight limp after leaving Thursday’s practice due to injury. - With Houston out, Will Smith Jr. and Tywone Malone lined up at defensive tackle with the starters during many of the “teach” periods where the full defense was together on Friday. Kayden McDonald and Jason Moore also repped with the starters on their respective split squads on Friday. - As he did on Thursday, star safety Caleb Downs continued to line up in multiple positions on Ohio State’s defense. On some series, Downs lined up at nickelback with Jaylen McClain and Leroy Roker III manning the safety spots (Malik Hartford and Faheem Delane were the top safeties on the other field during team drills). On other series, Downs moved back to free safety alongside McClain with Lorenzo Styles Jr. manning the nickel spot.
