28 Days Until Kickoff — Who’s Your Favorite No. 28?
Jeff Howe replied to Blake Munroe's topic in On Texas Football Forum
I liked the idea of a Texas defensive back wearing 28 for one game to honor Freddie. Duke Thomas did for the 2015 game against Kansas, when the 1969 championship team was recognized, but it didn't happen after that (at least that I can remember). -

I agree. Plant the seeds early without knowing what it’s for so it becomes second nature immediately. -

It depends on what prong you use. Enrollment numbers are just one option a school can use to comply.

Good thing we increased our women's scholarship counts! And no, women do not deserve equal NIL share because they're sports do not make money and revenue isn't federally gifted money. With that said if a school borrows from academic side to pay for NIL they that school specifically should be subject to Title IX policy with regards to NIL.

Sark said they will start that tOSU prep two weeks out from game day. But you’re right, I bet this whole summer has been filled with pieces specifically for the Buckeyes. -

He should get his degree first. He may never be the same, like the Alabama RB that transferred to TCU a couple years ago. -

Onions every time I see that. -
The issue with comparing to Blue with anyone like Sproles ... Darren Sproles was an unbelievably reliable player. In HS, college and the NFL. Jaydon Blue has never been a reliable player. Not in high school, and not at Texas. Blue has always been very talented. But he has a very big jump in reliability in front of him to have a successful and long career in the NFL. Just a few weeks ago he was being called lazy within the organization. He's got to bring consistency and reliability IMO.

Great information thanks ! I’ve been believing it was going to be Sayin but it appears there is a competition going on at QB1 for Ohio St. It could be a true competition or Day could be messing with PK . You know we are preparing for Ohio State now . -
I don’t know about Sproles but Blue is/was a dude. We will miss him BUT I think Clark is going to surprise this year to some. He has some Bijan to him and I’ve thought that the moment I saw his film in HS. He will be tough to corral in space. He doesn’t have Blue’s acceleration but I think he has the ability to make people miss and better contact balance.

Keeping an Eye on the Buckeye QBs It is certainly worth keeping an eye on what is going on in fall camp in Columbus. The expectation entering fall camp is QB1 is Julian Sayin, though I have heard over the summer that the competition is a little closer than folks in Columbus might have envisioned. Buckeyes head coach Ryan Day told reporters in Columbus after day one of fall camp his QB situation will be watched closely over the course of the next week: "We're just getting moving around, so hard to tell. I do think all three of them look a little bit stronger, a little bit more explosive, moving better. A little bit more command of the huddle. But we'll watch the film and kind of go from there. Day 1 without pads is kind of hard. We'll have a better feel -- give me four or five days and get a better idea." Career Stats Julian Sayin: 5/12 passing, 84 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT Sayin has a career long of 55 yards which came against Western Michigan in a 56–0 victory last fall. Lincoln Kienholz: 10/22 passing, 111 yards, 0 TD, 0 INT The majority of tape we have seen on Kienholz came in a disastrous Cotton Bowl appearance against Missouri in 2023. Kienholz, who was thrust into action, completed six of 17 attempts and had six rush attempts for two yards. Tavien St. Clair: true freshman St. Clair was the No. 1 quarterback in the country per 247Sports and the No. 4 player overall in the class of 2025.
