Gideon left Texas to run HIS show on defense. Any highly successful coach needs to leave the nest, just likes kids need to leave the home nest. -
C.J Vogel's Dating Red Flags And Football Recruiting

From a woman’s perspective, who’s divorced from my college sweetheart, and now very happily married, pick wisely & don’t settle. In my humble opinion, men are pretty easy to please, while we can be much more complicated & manipulative (and sometimes downright mean). Run from anyone trying to change you, keep you away from your friends, or is overly demanding. Find a woman who is low maintenance, is a giver not a taker, and one who is kind-hearted (& longhorn fan🤘). -

It also hasn’t been too smooth for the defense at Georgia Tech… Not that it’s all Gideon’s fault. Georgia Tech busted more than a few of my parlays this year 🤣 -
For the TX OU game, the OU seats are always cheaper than the Texas seats, even when they are favored. Our fans are willing to pay more & we have always traveled well 🤘

Sergio Kindle’s hit on Taylor Potts
Big Tex replied to Robert Gilbert's topic in On Texas Football Forum
I remember watching this live at DKR. The video doesn't do justice to how smooth the 'rip and dip' move was that Kindle pulled off and then his acceleration into the QB. He looked like a heat seeking missile and the OT barely got a hand on him. Kindle was an absolute pass rushing beast and it's unfortunate that his pro career was almost nonexistent due to injury. -

Gideon got the Job here the first time because of a recommendation from Muschamp. Don't underestimate that connection. -
He has some awful takes on sports. I’ll leave it at that to be nice.

Adam is a moron. He also has said Petrino is better than Sark. He probably should stick to his lady bird lake serial killer conspiracies.

Sergio's interview was awesome. He was a baaaaad man! Glad he's coaching. -
If this is the tweet you’re referring to, I don’t think they’re a legitimate source.

I like Adam, but disagree with him on Muschamp/PK… Adam’s eruption over CJ’s tweet on the halftime mariachi thing was priceless 🤣

Never met her

In fairness, Adam has bad takes on most subjects.

Oregon losing a lot of recruiting juice with Stein leaving and if Samples leaves. They will still spend that money though, so will still be a threat. I'm just hoping less of a threat.
-
Be suprised if he left Oregon

Saw a report on X talking about how Florida is closing in on their new RB coach and that Ra'Shaad Samples is trending for that position (he would be Co-OC). Will be interesting to see what would come of that with us going after Baugh. I will say, I'm hoping this means Samples stops poaching talent here in Texas as much as he does, since he would be in Florida.

It's a legit take that our defense was already pretty good, and making this change has risk to it. I personally think the analytics over rate PK a little. His style of play ("make them drive the entire field") is good for the defensive efficiency stats, but has two key flaws: 1.) It hurts our offense that they have to sit on the sidelines so much while the opponent dinks and dunks for easy first downs, 2.) the entire concept relies on college offenses not being able to put together complete drives. But what happens when we play elite teams and they actually can complete drives? I do long for a defense that makes the opponent fight for every first down, and I think that is the hope with Muschamp.

We made Lagway, Shapen, Cutter Boley, Diego Pavia, and a few others look like very capable passers when we played them. Nearly gave up the Vanderbilt game after giving up 21 pts in the 4th quarter. Tennessee/LSU/Ohio State/MSSt again next year all likely to have strong passing offenses next year. We can't give up all these yards/TOP/pts and place too much pressure on Arch to be superman for the team to win big games.

I wouldn’t depend on a true freshman as a specialist in any situation. See where that got us a couple seasons ago with michael kern. -
I’m in between Loewy and the board consensus on this one. My primary concern: I’m not sure Muschamp’s coaching style meshes as well these days with the portal/NIL era relative to 08/09. I look at tough coaching styles the same way as gruff news conference styles for coaches (a la Saban). When you’re winning/succeeding, it is tolerated and even looked at endearingly. When you’re losing or not succeeding, it may start to wear thin. What eases my concern: 1. We are very talented. Lack of talent shouldn’t hamper Muschamp’s success. 2. This season’s cumulative defensive results were lackluster relative to what we had/expectations. I don’t think it would take a wunderkind to improve our defensive results from this year to next. Muschamp may fall short of 08/09, but should have ample room to improve from 25 to 26. Just seeing Simmons rushing the passer more and dropping into coverage far, far less will be an upgrade.
