No doubt Aggie is doing well in this class. If new rules come up making it harder for kids to transfer , High School kids would then become a bigger thing. We will see how it turns out. We just need to get kids like we did last year that look like they are better than we expected apparently according to reports.

Yep, this is the answer. Texas is clearly focused on signing 8-10 elite high school recruits, surrounding them with a bunch of high-upside but cheap developmental prospects, and maximizing the NIL to bring in a bunch of Cam Coleman-level players next year to replace what they lose to the draft. And I happen to think they’ve figured out the right formula.

I know guys want to be the "Head Man", but UH is a tough gig. The greater Houston area is generally considered one of the top 2-3-4 areas in the country for high school baseball. That is good. It is also where every serious baseball school shops! Austin, College Station, and Baton Rouge are short drives. They are going to need investment in facilities and to find some serious NIL$. But, it is always a good sign when your staff is in demand.

Obviously a long way to go in the cycle, but A&M is specifically aiming to sign the No. 1 class and OU will probably finish ahead of Texas as well. But the important thing to remember is how much money is saved for the portal when you look at Texas' class compared to those classes. Think about how many high dollar players are coming off the books this year for Texas — Colin Simmons, Trevor Goosby, Arch Manning, Jelani McDonald, Cam Coleman, Rasheem Biles, Hero Kanu, and possibly Ryan Wingo and Melvin Siani. Outside of Royal, Texas' top targets are still on the board and there will be several big additions between now and signing day. And to top it off, Texas will likely end up signing another great portal class.

Aggy is tying up millions in players that will not see the field for years. ou has a few good players committed but Texas was not even recruiting most of them. Naggy appears to be an idiot and BV is a Jag. I am worried about competing against Georgia and Ohio states of the world. Aggy and ou are afterthoughts at this point.

They still haven’t figured out what Texas realized after signing the #1 recruiting class: if you’re going to invest all that NIL in high school players, they’d better be on the field contributing next year. Otherwise it’s just dead money that you can’t allocate to bringing in a badass portal class. Didn’t work out so well for Texas last year and Sark is already showing he’s not going to make the same mistake twice.

The jury is still out on this class, but there was another thread posted earlier this morning about the 2025 #1 ranked class they had and so far the returns haven’t been what some thought it would be at this point. Not sure in this era with how quickly players can transfer out if having a class like that is worth it. Maybe a top 10 high school recruiting class and getting proven commodities in the transfer portal is a better strategy for now unless the portal gets nerfed.
